For Sale: 1967 Oldsmobile 442 in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

Rare #s match 442 ,4 speed convertible. Only 502 W-30s were built total in 1967, no convertibles. This 442 has the ultra rare W-30 package added including ram air, red inner fenders and battery relocated to the trunk. I've seen these air cleaners as high as $9,500. It has won many awards at Olds events including best in class at Olds Nationals

EXTERIOR: Over 20 year old paint and recently won best paint award! Painted with high end Glasurit basecoat- clearcoat. Beautiful factory color- code K Ocean Mist. This one really is laser straight, not a ripple anywhere. Body gaps are like a new Mercedes. The bumpers fit the contours of the body perfectly well. All of the chrome and trim is a 9 or better. Show quality bumpers, at tail lights are pristine. The stainless trim is polished and straight. Door handles are original, the mirror is pristine. Upfront the bumper is rechromed, headlight bezels are polished. Emblems look new. It is correctly hand pinstriped dark red, just like it left the factory. Has SS-1 chrome wheels with radial redline tires. The convertible top is black and in excellent condition. New window fuzzies and weatherstrips. Door jambs are painted real slick.

INTERIOR: In 2002 the seats were reupholstered, carpet replaced and original console was rechromed. It also has original Hurst shifter that says 442 on the handle. Very cool factory gauge cluster in the dash with tachometer. Also has speed minder dial. Factory Am-Fm radio plays crystal clear. Interior lights work. Dash pad is mint. Instrument panel is very nice original. Has new reproduction floormats. Very tidy inside.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Detailed to show quality. That W-30 outside air induction cleaner is rare (and expensive, I found one for $9,500). Has show quality chrome, correct 4 inch tubes lead to special ducts between the headlights. Valve covers have been rechromed. The red inner fenders designates W-30. All the components and finishes are real nice. It has the splash shields on each side of the radiator support, GM hoses and clamps, proper fan shroud, hood insulation. The wiring is run neatly. Rebuilt engine in 1988 with only 20,000 miles since, it runs perfectly. Touch the key and it fires up, has perfect sounding idle.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The W-30s had the battery relocated to the trunk for better weight distribution (and the ram air tubes were in the way). It was properly installed with the cables run just like factory. It has the factory vent tubes but not needed because it is a sealed battery. Top motor was replaced. Super clean metal neatly spatter painted. Has rubber mat, tire cover, jack and spare. Under the trunk lid and jamb is painted slick. New weatherstrip.

UNDERSIDE: Has original #s matching Muncie 4-speed, rebuilt in 1989. Has posi rear end. Also features Rally suspension which includes sway bars and boxed control arms. New brakes, exhaust and clutch in 2003. E-brake cables are hooked up. Has gas shocks in back. The floors are very clean metal, smooth black finish.

Awards/Accomplishments according to previous owner: Class winner at the Oldsmobile Nationals. President choice at the Quad State Oldsmobile meet. Multi winner at the Quad State Olds Meet in IA, IL, WI. Best Oldsmobile at the BOP Meet.
