For Sale: 1940 Ford 2-Dr Coupe in SPOKANE, Washington

Vehicle Description

I am not normally a Hot Rod guy, not normally. They tend to scare the hell out of me, sloppy steering, poor handling, won't stop but damn sure go like stink! This one ain't like that, really not. Yes, it goes like stink but, it is also a pleasure to drive ! It handles well, it is responsive to steering in-put, it tracks perfectly and thankfully, it stops great! I've driven the car for hours at a time. Never overheats, Always starts and runs well and when I can keep my foot out of it (yeah, right) actually gets reasonable mileage.....lol... not really a concern is it  :)

This iconic 1940 Ford coupe was built in Wenatchee Washington by The Reliable Street Rod Shop. This is a REAL 1940 ford, it is an all steel car with, with a correct and verifiable 1940 Ford vin stamped into the left front frame rail.  The only exception being the engine hood. (who would cut up a steel hood? ) The car has had but two owners here in Spokane for the past many years.

The build quality of the car is excellent, there was a great deal of money spent originally, this was a high-end build. The car has a small block 350 with a 671 Blower fed by duel 4 barrel Eddlebrock carbs. The engine is mated to a modified Turbo 400 transmission. Front end is Mustang with modern control arms and disc brakes. Rear brakes are disc as well. We estimate horse power output at just north of 500 on pump gas. IT GOES JUST FINE THANK YOU VERY MUCH ! Being pointed in the right direction while applying right foot pressure is a really good idea.

The paint work is excellent and still looks 8 feet deep. Over the years however, there are some minor flaws, none too glaring and the car still stops people at every show it attends. I like showing this car about as much as I do driving it.... it gets attention nod, nod, wink, wink. :) The interior is gorgeous and tastefully done, Thankfully, who ever built the car didn't go all "billet" nuts as was the norm. The dash is remarkably stock, the leather Lincoln power seats are attractive, comfortable and they do work. The car is also equipped with a half cage, the rear has been beautifully tubb'd and the trunk very nicely finished.

This is a very nice '40 Ford and arguably one of the most desirable body styles of all Hot Rods. It is a great driving car with very few flaws that still shows extremely well. It can enjoyed, shown with pride and driven anywhere , right now. The car is turn key. Building this car today would require an investment exceeding $125,000 easily, quite easily.

It's car show time, the first time you show it the crowd will go nuts  !!!!   All reasonable offers considered
