Vehicle Description
1973 Land Rover Series III For Sale - Land Rover Green, Soft Top,
Power Brakes LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1973 Land
Rover Series III The third generation or "Series III" was the last
of the original Land Rovers. Ever since the Series I model rolled
off the production line in 1948, Land Rover had been improving the
design and functionality. The third generation of the famed Land
Rover was introduced to American market for 1971. From the side, it
seemed like little had changed from the previous Series IIA. That's
because cosmetically, most of the changes were up front. The Land
Rover Series III featured a new plastic grille over the previous
wire mesh and the headlights were surrounded by new trim pieces.
Many more changes, however, lurked under the surface. The
transmission now had syncros in all forward gears, an alternator
replaced the generator, the dashboard was redesigned, and more
controls moved to the steering column. Atypical of Land Rover, year
to year changes were virtually non-existent, aside from meeting
newer federal standards. This 1973 Land Rover Series III is a nice
example of the classic British off roader presented in classic Land
Rover green. Inside the passenger compartment, the Series III is
far better appointed than it would have been from the factory, with
tan upholstered seats in the front and rear, upholstered door
panels, tan gear lever boots and checker plate panels on the floors
of the footwells. Powered by a 2.25-liter Inline gasoline engine,
this Land Rover has the looks to drive around town and the strength
to drive off road. As you'd expect with any vintage Land Rover,
this one has its spare tire mounted on the hood, with steel wheels
all-round and traditional chunky tires. It has undergone a
restoration and 2750km showing on the odometer. In the last few
years, there has been a surge in popularity around vintage 4x4s,
with a huge amount of attention focused on vehicles like the
original Ford Bronco, the Toyota FJ40, the 2-door Range Rover
Classic and the Series I/II/III Land Rovers. This trend shows no
signs of slowing down and is widely believed to be the next sector
of the vintage car market to see sustained gains in value. If you
are looking for a classic Land Rover that runs and drives well,
this is the one for you. Additional Details: 1973 LAND ROVER SERIES
