Real A code performance 289, factory 4-speed, great original
colors. California built car. From a collection of 10 cars. Older
restoration that has held up real well. We have an appraisal from
2006 valuing the car at $29,100 and they called it a #1 at that
time.
EXTERIOR: Still looks fantastic. The body is held up real well
which means it's a clean body. It's straight, I don't notice any
bubbles or significant issues. Painted it's beautiful original
vintage burgundy color. Has all the proper GT equipment including
emblems, stripes, fog lamps, wheels and exhaust coming through the
valance. It also has a remote mirror. Overall the chrome is bright
and shiny. The grill bar, bumper, emblems, stainless moldings, tail
lights all look very nice. Glass is clear. Jambs are painted nice,
has soft weather strips.
INTERIOR: Very nice looking Palomino deluxe Pony interior with
burgundy carpet and dash pad. The deluxe includes the running
ponies on the seats, molded door panels with knife handles, wood
grain trim and deluxe wheel. Has a retro stereo, interior lights in
the doors work, has seat belts front and back. Has embroidered
floormats. Headliner and visors are excellent. Interior metal is
all painted.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: VIN number is stamped on the inner fender, it
is an "A" code which designates the performance 289 4 Barrel
engine. The motor was rebuilt. The motor compartment overall is
clean and it looks stock. Correct manifolds, valve covers, air
cleaner, etc. It does have an upgraded distributor.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Solid metal, bottom of the trunk lid and the
jamb are painted glossy. Has a GT wheel for a spare. Weather strips
and trunk mat have been replaced.
UNDERSIDE: Appears to be very solid. Floors and frame rails are
clean. It has been cleaned and painted black. Has the GT disc
brakes in front. GT dual exhaust has new mufflers. The 4-speed
trans and the rear end are original, verified by the originals tags
on each of them.
Great colors and features- GT, 4-speed and pony interior is very
desirable. The Mustang is the worlds most favorite collector car.
Safe investment, easy to maintain and get parts for.
