information and a video. This 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle SS is a jaw
dropper and a real deal SS with a 138 VIN! It was a one owner car
until 2003 and was stored unused most of its life. The original
engine was removed in the mid-1970s and the car was stored until it
was purchased and restored. The restoration was a frame-off and the
body was blasted to bare metal and painted a beautiful Pewter with
black stripes. The underside of the car is painted the same color
and shows very well! The doors, hood and trunk all close with the
touch of a finger which lets you know this car was built right!
Under the hood is a Keith Black 402 CID V8 with domed pistons,
ported and polished heads with 10.5:1 compression, Comp Cam with a
.480 lift and .238 duration, a high volume oil pump, Edelbrock
intake, Holley 750 double pumper carburetor and Hooker full-length
headers that give this beast a nice rumble. The engine is built to
run on normal Premium pump gas. The engine is paired to a 700R4
Stage 2, four speed automatic transmission that shifts great. The
rear end is a 12-bolt with Posi-Trac 4.56 gears to make sure every
bit of power that big block puts down makes it to the ground. The
suspension was also upgraded for an improved ride quality and
handling. The rear has adjustable Ride Right air bags! The aluminum
alloy wheels are 17" in the front and 18" in the rear. The front
brakes are SSBC Force 10 Premium disc brakes with valve adjustment
for the rear. This Chevelle has been run only Royal Purple fluids
since it was built and has just over 3,000 miles since the
frame-off restoration was completed. All work was professionally
done, and it shows. The interior features a black vinyl interior
with bucket seats, center console with Horseshoe shifter and an
AM/FM/CD player. A/C has been added to make this the ultimate
touring car, no matter where you live. Options include: power
steering, power brakes, A/C, AM/FM/CD players, aluminum alloy
wheels, radial tires, front disc brakes, vinyl interior, seat belts
and a vinyl roof. The trunk is left mostly stock with the original
trunk mat and spare tire, since they were in great shape. This
vehicle is eligible for an extended service contract through
Classic Vehicle Protection. Click the "Warranty" tab for more info.
