1964 Chevrolet SS Impala convertible.2 dr, automatic, bucket seats and console. Has original 42,995 miles. Until last June, this vehicle was stored and not moved in 39 years! Part of an interesting collection recently sold off to meet medical bills. The interior is black and all original in immaculate condition. Some discoloration on the door armrests but otherwise near perfect. The convertible top is in amazing condition with good color, no tears, clear "glass", and functioning properly. It comes with a cover, stored in the trunk, that appears brand new. After-market wheels are "Cal Chrome" Cragar style with some surface rust. Also included are the original SS wheel discs in like new condition. (see pics) Body has no rust anywhere and was painted prior to storage, believed to be in the seventies, retaining very good shine. Doors close with that satisfying thud only low mileage cars have. Body gaps are excellent and there is no sign of accident damage. Windows all operate nicely and are smooth and tight, again as a low mileage car would. The trunk compartment is extremely clean and tidy with original style spare tire and wheel and jack. The engine compartment is also very original but should be detailed. Still has the original fender mounted washer bottle air breather. The engine is the original 283 ci with the Powerglide transmission. Both operate smoothly and quietly with no smoke. Recent work completed to facilitate sale and good running condition is as follows: new battery and cables, original carburetor rebuild, new fuel pump, new starter, new alternator and belts, complete tuneup with all new components incl. plugs, wires, cap, rotor, points, condenser, and coil, oil change, cooling system check, fuel system flush, and new brake master cylinder. No leaks other than a slight oil leak from the left valve cover. Tires are in like new condition with tread but have slight flat spots presumably from sitting so long. Otherwise car drives very smooth and quiet.
