289/C4 Automatic, Restored California Car
1966 Ford Mustang Convertible for sale. This attractive Mustang was built in San Jose, California and came equipped new finished in Sauterne Gold Metallic with a Light Ivy Gold Crinkle Vinyl and White Crinkle Vinyl, Pony Interior. It has been with the same family here in the California wine county for decades and was nicely restored several years ago in the early 2000s. It has only been driven about 2,000 miles since and has been properly stored indoors.
The paint is smooth and shiny and the body is rust-free, it was a well-executed full-color change. The trim and chrome were refinished and replaced as needed at the time of the restoration. It has nice glass, rubber, lenses, and emblems. The newer power top goes up and down easily and is in excellent, nearly new condition with a proper folding glass rear window and boot cover. It has steel-styled 14" wheels with trim rings and red center caps.
The interior was nicely restored using the Pony interior along with new panels, dash pad, carpeting, steering wheel, some switches and gauges, pedal pads and more. It is very comfortable, in nice working order and looks great. It has an upgraded vintage radio with auxiliary input for use with your devices.
The original equipment 289ci 2v V8 was rebuilt less than 2,000 miles ago starts and runs strong and smooth. The automatic C4 transmission shifts nicely through the gears and power steering and suspension are nice and tight as well. It appears to have it's original 2.80:1 geared conventional rear end, perfect for relaxed highway drives. The engine compartment was repainted and restored along with all of the ancillary items. The power braking was just redone to ensure its safety and performance. The tires are a bit aged and should be replaced before any regular driving, and we can discuss facilitating this before shipping.
