This is a beautiful 1997 Porsche 911 Carrera S, one of only 1,752
examples built for North America with less than 45K miles!
The 993 C2S shared a wide-body platform with the 993 Turbo and
Carrera 4S, which included widened fenders, unique side skirts, and
redesigned bumpers. The retractable rear spoiler featured a
split-grille design that was specific only to the C2S. This
gorgeous example is finished in Guards Red (G1) with a Black
interior. This 993 is now available with all service records,
original window sticker and a clean Carfax report!
The current owner has upgraded the seats to the higher end Turbo
seats which were originally an available option offered on all
Carrera S models. The condition of the car is excellent inside and
out and the car drives incredibly nice. The suspension has been
upgraded with an M030 suspension kit that includes: left and right
front shocks, left and right rear shocks, front and rear springs,
stabilizer bar front and rear, rubber mountings, strut tower brace,
short shift lever, and scrape bar. Wheels have been upgraded to 18"
BBS wheels
The air-cooled 3.6-liter M64/23 flat-six features VarioRam
induction and when new was rated at 282 horsepower, which is sent
to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission.
The option code under the hood lists the following options that
originally came with the car:
159 - Engine sound package
329 - Cassette-radio Blaupunkt Toronto SQR 48 or Cassette-radio
Becker Porsche CR-210
437 - 8-way electrical seat, left
454 - Automatic speed control
490 - Sound system
650 - Sun-moon-roof
Carrera S shared the Turbo model's bodyshell but housed the
naturally aspirated engine in the rear. Both of the S models had
slightly lowered suspension as compared to standard Carrera models.
The all-wheel-drive 4S is heavier than the S due to the former's
all-wheel-drive system, resulting in a curb weight of 1,427 kg
(3,147 lb) for the C4S vs. 1,390 kg (3,064 lb) for the C2S. Due to
this, the S has a quicker acceleration time and a greater top speed
than the 4S.
The wide bodywork is widely acclaimed for its rear looks. It
creates more aerodynamic drag, leading to slightly lower top speeds
compared to the narrower siblings (about 5 km/h), but the wider
tires result in excellent road-holding.
