For Sale: 2002 Chevrolet Corvette in Charlotte, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

What's better than getting your hands on a wicked classic that can handily dispatch pretty much anything on the road? Easy... Getting your hands on a wicked and equally cool build that's unlike anything you'll ever see at your monthly Cars & Coffee meet! A mind-blowing land rocket for gearheads who desire exclusive performance, this brilliant Z06 combines the wonderful simplicity of Chevrolet's fifth-generation Corvette with 427 cubic inches of all-American power. Looking for a ride that's off the charts in virtually every way? Check out this custom Chevy!

MORE BRAZEN THAN BOLD

Wrapping Grand Sport-style war paint around brilliant Atomic Orange Metallic base, this coupe's whittled body continues to age with timeless grace. At the front of the car, Z06-spec grilles lead a requisite Corvette emblem and a trick Ram Air Hood. A long, black-trimmed profile hangs Z06-spec brake ducts behind body-matched mirrors, door handles and color-keyed "427" emblems. Above those scripts, factory-tint glass supports a rare fixed roof. And at the back of the car, a "CORVETTE" branded valance frames big Borla tips beneath clean taillights and a third "427" badge.

THAT'S 427, NOT LS7

Tilt the hood and you'll find 427 cubic inches of spry LS small block that turns a healthy 428 rear-wheel horsepower into 431 lb./ft. of tire-spinning torque! Built by Scoggin-Dickey, that aluminum GM L92 block kicks off with a muted cold air intake, which feeds a 90mm GM throttle body. That throttle fronts a composite GM intake, which threads oxygen into high octane dino blood that's supplied by 42-pound fuel injectors. Fires are lit when Packard wires spark CNC-ported GM L76 heads. Those aluminum domes cap a 4.068-inch bore that's home to quality Manley pistons. Those pistons move around a tough Callies crank, 6.125-inch SCAT rods and a proven GM LS7 cam. At the front of that hardware, a GM serpentine drive spins factory power steering beneath a factory alternator and a factory AC compressor. Exhaust duties are handled by stainless Kooks headers. And overall, everything, from the car's custom coil covers to its factory master cylinder, is well-planned and professionally executed.

POWER WITH PURPOSE

Slide under this stiff hardtop and you'll find a hydroformed chassis that unites a double A-arm front and transverse leaf rear suspension with GM's second generation Active Handling system. Power flows through a proven BorgWarner 6-speed. Turns get funneled through a power-assisted, speed-sensitive rack-and-pinion. At the corners, red, "CORVETTE" branded calipers clamp a quartet of drilled and slotted rotors. Spent gases are mitigated by sleek Kooks tubes, which center small Kooks cats in front of an X-shaped crossover and mean Borla S-Type mufflers. And rolling stock consists of bright, 10-spoke blades, which spin 295/35ZR18 Nitto Invos in front of 325/30ZR19 Nitto Invos.

TASTEFULLY SIMPLE

Take a look inside this Chevy and you'll find a tasteful leather interior that's clean and to the point. In the dash, easy to read gauges, which include GM's Head Up Display and Driver Information Center, cap strong, dual-zone climate control and a standard Delco head unit. The Z06-branded buckets, power-adjustable for the car's driver, are a comfy place to spend serious seat time. At the sides of those seats, clean door panels flow the dash's monochromatic color scheme through large Bose speakers. In front of the driver, a factory steering wheel turns between a factory shifter, an electrochromic mirror and a tilting column. And naturally, all the luxuries you'd expect are present and accounted for, including power windows, power mirrors, power door locks, Memory, Cruise Control and Remote Keyless Entry.

Mixing great power with world class athleticism and all-American swagger, this Z06 is both impressive and cool. And when it comes to the driving experience, it's about as much fun as you can have on four wheels! Call, click or visit https://www.RKMotors.com for more information!
