Vehicle Description
Presenting the pinnacle of Buick performance, the 1987 Grand
National. This great car became popular and still is due to its
tremendous performance potential. This example has only had two
previous owners and has been left in its original stock condition
right down to the wheels. As an '87, it's equipped with the most
fully developed Buick Turbo V6. It boasts multiport sequential fuel
injection and distributorless ignition. Tube exhaust headers and
dual exhaust outlets were installed at the factory. It all adds up
to a rating of 245 net horsepower, which many agree was quite a
conservative rating. The TH2004R automatic was tuned for the car,
and offers a low first gear for aggressive acceleration and an 0.67
overdrive fourth gear for highway driving. The rear is a sturdy
10-bolt limited slip with 3.42 gears. The Grand National earned a
reputation as one of the hottest accelerating vehicles available in
the U.S in the late eighties. Yet with all this performance
hardware, remember it's still a Buick. That means high levels of
comfort and luxury. A specific gray and black interior is still
stylish today. It's also well-equipped by today's standards.
Everything from power steering, power front disc brakes, air
conditioning, cruise, tilt, power driver's seat, and rear window
defogger, to a premium sound system is on board. In 1981, Buick
introduced a new-design Regal. It's not a coincidence that Buick
won the Manufacturer's Cup in NASCAR Grand National racing in 1981
and 1982 with the new aerodynamically improved design. So to
celebrate, the Buick Grand National was born. It established Buick
as a leader in turbocharging technology. The Grand National was the
hottest thing going in the eighties, has been a favorite of hot
rodders since, and is a sought-after classic today. This example,
in unmodified form, has been well cared for since new. Mileage is
believed to be 134586. It has been treated to a repaint and some
new interior pieces to keep it fresh. Maxmotive is pleased to
provide this great opportunity for you to enjoy some true classic
American muscle.
