Vehicle Description
This 2004 Mercury Marauder is part of a small run of absolutely
cool full-size modern muscle machines. So when you get rarity and
fuel-injected V8 power together, you know you're looking at an
instant classic.
With a name like Marauder you want it finished in black. This is
the factory-correct color, which is always desirable, but there's
also much more there that has your eye. Mercury really knew how to
give its sedan a full midnight package makeover. This includes the
blackout grille, black background headlights, and a rear light
package that was tinted as dark as the law would allow. There's
other speedy details, like the special rear spoiler and smooth
front bumper with integrated fog lights. Plus, even the brightwork
has an aggressive tone with the big polished dual exhaust tips and
the large 18-inch alloys. This all part of a well-done package that
celebrates a history of delivering an intimidating look in a
full-size machine...exactly what the Marauder name is all about.
And while there will always be a comparison to this sedan's direct
rival, the Chevy Impala SS, the GM car absolutely can't touch this
one's rarity. They only made the Marauder for two years, and only
about 11,000 cars total. In fact, a final-year example like this
finished in this color combo is one of less than 150!
A full-size muscle car also has a practical side you instantly see
the moment you open the door. This is the kind of interior space
that makes it everyday useful, and family and friends will always
want to go for a ride. It's also loaded with all the luxuries
everybody wants, including automatic climate control, leather
seats, power windows, power locks, folding rear armrest, cup
holders, alarm, cruise control, anti-lock brakes, dual airbags, and
an AM/FM/cassette stereo with CD changer. But even on the days
you're going solo, this Marauder treats you right. That's because
you have the individual comfort of a high-back bucket seat. And not
only does it power adjust, but so do the pedals. The dual-spoke
steering wheel has all your major control buttons, and the column
tilts to give you a clear view to the crisp white faced gauges. And
the factory-installed AutoMeter Pro-Comp readouts in the center
console are an instant reminder of something special under the
hood.
The reason why the Marauder was able the be such a powerful force
is because it came about in the era of Ford's excellent 4.6-liter
modular V8. This received the four-valve DOHC version, which
basically gave this the same fuel-injected power as the
contemporary Ford Mustang Mach 1. It all looks quite stock on
what's believe to be the original motor. The one upgrade you'll
spot is a cold air intake to ensure this cranking out more than 300
hp. The suspension was upgraded utilizing components from Ford's
Crown Vic police program, including four-wheel disc brakes and sway
bars front & rear. So this one knows how to handle its size. But
for those times when you just want to cruise, features like the
power steering and four-speed automatic transmission w/overdrive
makes this a fine road trim machine, too.
Complete with owner's manual packet, this has the look, power, and
rarity we all want in an instant classic. So don't let this black
Marauder slip away, call today!
