Ferrari introduced the 575M Maranello as a replacement for the 550
of the same name at the 2002 Geneva Motor Show. The M simply
designated modificata ("modified"), referring to the myriad of
updates, including a larger and more powerful engine. The new 575M
benefitted from a 515 bhp, 5.75-liter with electronic sequential
port fuel injection. The model was also the first production V-12
Ferrari to feature the F1-style paddle-shift electro-hydraulically
controlled transmission. The state-of-the-art gearbox provided
lightning-quick shifts, helping to accelerate the 575M to 60 mph in
just 4.0 seconds and a top speed of 201 mph.
Records indicate that this 575M was sold new in 2003 through
Barrett Motor Cars of San Antonio, Texas. In late 2006 the mileage
was recorded at just over 5,800 miles, accounting for most of the
travel the car shows today. Documentation shows that the car
subsequently spent time in the state of New York, followed by a
stint in Arizona, as well as Oklahoma, where it currently resides
in a prominent private collection. Currently, the 575M shows less
than 6,200 original miles. The gorgeous Grigio Ingrid exterior,
reminiscent of the famed 375 MM Pinin Farina coupe, evokes an aura
of pure elegance. More so, its lovely tan interior presents in very
good condition. Of course, no Ferrari is complete without its
original accessories, and as such this 575M is accompanied with its
factory manuals, tools, and air compressor.
Truly a highly capable 21st-century grand tourer, a 575M Maranello
driven at speed or leisure will never disappoint. Presented in a
beautiful color combination, this example would be a brilliant
addition to drive and enjoy.
Please note that contrary to the printed catalogue, the services
records are not available on file.
