This vintage 2-Door Hardtop from American Motors Corporation is a pretty groovy piece of American car history. Styling similar to the muscle cars rolling out of Detroit, this car had similar looks in a smaller package. A V8 under the hood, bucket seats, and aggressive looks had muscle car buyers taking a second look. This SST was the higher trim level on the Javelins, and this car has plenty of options to speak of. Factory Cruise Control, Positraction, Dual Chrome Mirrors, Tinted Glass, Luggage Rack, Buckets w/ console, Am Radio, Vinyl Top, Bumper Guards, and original 14 steel wheels with full wire hubcaps. Also has a new battery, new brakes, new headliner, new carburetor, and a working factory Clock. The Javelin's styling resembled that of many of the Muscle Cars on the market in a slightly smaller package. An aggressive looking front end at the front of the car with a simple raked back end gives this two door hardtop a tough stance. The body on this particular Javelin is in great condition and looks to have been repainted once in the original color a number of years ago. The car was optioned with bumper guards front and rear. The paint is glossy, and all trim, lights, and glass are in great shape. Inside the car the SST trim package featured a number of extras. A three spoke sport steering wheel, wood trim on the dash and door panels, and reclining seatbacks were a few items that a tick on the SST box on the order sheet got you. Inside this particular car is a very tidy interior, which is believed to be original. Other notable items are an original AM Radio, and 'Cruise Command' Cruise Control. The 290ci V8 under the hood features a 2BBL carburetor, and is highly original other than an MSD 'Blaster' ignition coil and new carburetor. Three speed shift command automatic transmission gave the driver the option to shift through the gears on their own, or leave it in Drive. A taller shifter lever was close at hand much like a manual transmission shifter would be. This groovy vintage AMC is in awesome condition and since it's an SST has a number of great extras. Purchase this Javelin and you can enjoy both the sound and power of the V8 while in the well appointed cabin - just make sure the car is garage kept.
