Vehicle Description
This 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible has been restored to look
both crisp and speedy. So you'll love everything from the excellent
chrome to the five-speed upgrade. In fact, you'll want to dig into
all the details because this one is the right mix of sophistication
and intimidation.
Goldwood Yellow is a great factory-correct color to have. Not only
was it only offered for a couple of years, but also it was one of
the rarest applied to the '65 Corvette. This one has a fantastic
look that radiates in the sunshine - exactly what you want on a
convertible. It's the product of a well-done restoration. Plus, you
get to choose two distinct ways to motor with this C2. The newer
black folding roof has a timeless look against the yellow, and the
well-fitting color-matched hardtop gives you a coupe-like profile.
But the investments here were not just about getting the paint and
the chrome to better than factory standards. This one is also about
looking speedy. Your eyes are immediately drawn to the upgraded
alloys wheels, and the rear fender got a Grand Sport style flaring
to accommodate the extra meaty rear rubber. And of course, side
pipes are always a powerful way to announce you've arrived.
The black interior looks great against the yellow paint, and so you
can really enjoy open-top motoring. The full restoration meant a
solid investment here to get the dash, carpeting, door panels, and
seats all looking and feeling nice. Plus, it has some nice comfort
features, like an AM/FM radio, telescopic steering column, power
steering, and added cup holders. The wood-rimmed steering wheel
feels grippy in your hands, the full gauge package is working
correctly (including the clock), and have you counted the gears on
the stick shift yet?
The engine bay has a nice classic look with the Corvette script
valve covers, pie dish air topper, and even correct details, like
the AC fuel filter. So it's great to have what's believed to be the
original 327 cubic-inch block still under the hood. This motor was
rebuilt during the restoration, and that included some nice
upgrades like Dart aluminum heads. The V8 inhales deeply through
the correct Holley four-barrel carburetor, and it exhales with
authority out of the side pipes. And you control this power and
rumbling soundtrack better than the factory car ever could thanks
to the upgrade to a Tremec five-speed manual transmission. Plus,
the fully independent suspension and four-wheel disc brakes really
let you enjoy this enhanced powertrain package to the fullest.
The sale comes complete with build receipts, service manuals, and a
car cover. Stick-shift droptop C2s are always in demand, but one
that's been upgraded like this is an all-around irresistible
winner. Don't miss out, call today!!!
