For Sale: 1970 Plymouth Barracuda in Charlotte, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

Like the idea of owning a Hemi-powered 'Cuda convertible, but think better of diving head first into a seven-figure investment? We've got the classic for you! A ton of time and money was spent making this brilliant bombshell one of the best Hemi tributes on the planet. Decked in sultry In Violet paint and rotisserie restored with an era-correct 426/4-speed drivetrain, the car is an easy way for any hardcore Chrysler fan to enjoy collector car hierarchy. So, if you're looking for a well-restored Hemi car that's anything but a numbers-matching drama queen, this fully-sorted drop-top is your hot ticket!

A VIOLET PURPLE 'CUDA? THAT'S PLUM CRAZY!

Is there a more famous High Impact color than In Violet? As one of the most appealing hues to come out of Chrysler's hip 1970s 'brighter is better' mindset, code FC7 purple is probably some of the most legendary paint to ever adorn classic MoPar metal. And when it's expertly applied under traditional Hemi side stripes, it's a sublime reminder just how crazy the muscle car era really was! At the front of this rotisserie restored 'Cuda's straight profile, a traditional Redline Grille hangs clear headlights and a small "PLYMOUTH" script between a showroom-fresh bumper, stylish fog lights and clear parking lamps. At the top of those lamps, a familiar Shaker Hood splits the difference between small lanyards and factory tint glass that's framed in well-maintained stainless. At the sides of that stainless, polished mirrors reflect a black vinyl top while textured rocker guards frame stainless wheel moldings and satin door handles. And at the back of the car, a traditional black valence hangs like-new taillights and a small "'cuda" badge above bright exhaust tips and a second show worthy bumper.

HEMI

Pull the pins on this 'Cuda's glossy hood and you'll find 426 cubic inches of professionally rebuilt Hemi that wears a famous, era-correct 2468330 casting number. And, take it from us, that legendary elephant block really comes alive when fitted with a COMP solid lifter, flat tappet cam! All the mill's high performance hardware is housed in a bright Hemi Orange block, which hangs an attractive set of Organisol-style valve covers above low restriction exhaust manifolds. Fuel and air are supplied by large, 4-barrel Carters that are bolted to a high performance intake. Compression is sparked by high quality Chrysler Electronic Suppression cables, which are snapped onto an old school points distributor. And resultant combustion is cooled by a heavy duty radiator that's finished with reproduction Chrysler hoses and old school squeeze clamps.

GOOD BONES

Bottom-side, this 'Cudas restored chassis is every bit as clean and straight forward as its solid exterior panels and fully sorted engine. The high-winding big block churns power through a familiar A833 4-speed, which spins a correct Dana 60 Sure Grip that's finished with a posi-traction differential and big, 4.10 gears. Braking comes courtesy of power front discs and heavy duty drums. Turns are aided by factory power steering, which is bolted between Hemi torsion bars, Hemi torque boxes and an authentic Hemi K-member. Charred dinosaurs flow through a traditional H-shaped crossover to aluminized pipes and factory replacement mufflers. And at the corners of this Plymouth's over-restored floors, 15-inch Rallye wheels spin fresh F60-15 Goodyear Polyglas GTs around polished trim rings and silver centers.

BLACK, NATURALLY

Inside this convertible, a fully restored Black vinyl interior is simple, functional and looks as good as new. Top dead center, high-back bucket and rear bench seats are restoration-fresh and show barely any signs of wear. Between those seats, an optional console anchors a cool Hurst Pistol Grip Shifter in vivid wood trim. In front of those seats, a warp-free dash hangs familiar Rallye telemetry above a vintage Chrysler Solid State radio. And in front of the driver, a wood-rimmed steering wheel perfectly complements the car's sculpted console and slick instrument panel.

Lovingly restored and highly accurate in every way, this brilliant 'Cuda is guaranteed to please even the most discerning MoPar enthusiast. Looking for awesome top-tier muscle that you can actually drive and enjoy? Look no further than this storied Plymouth!
