1969 1/2 M code Plymouth Roadrunner Lift off hood I D # RM23M9A283596 Listed in the Lift Off Hood Web Site. This is a 440 six pack car.
I purchased this Roadrunner sometime in Oct 2000 from the Original Owners daughter. Car was left in her garage for many years as it was her fathers car that he purchased new in 1969. When he passed he willed the car to his only daughter. Car was in Huntingburg Indiana, but her dad lived in KY.
What was special about this car, is although it laid in her garage for a long time, it was all original thru and thru. When I purchased this car I did a full inspection (with an expert in the local area, Ed Meyer) I was amazed at the originality and absolutely NO Rust anywhere on the car.
I shipped the car back to my garage in New Jersey where it laid for another 7 years. In 2008 I had the car completely restored including all of the mechanicals. Ed Mimi from Brooklyn NY (a plymouth expert) was amazed at the condition of said car. What was noted in the restoration process is that the engine and all mechanical components were original except for an updated transmission which although it is a 1969 trans., the numbers were off from the original one. Every body panel,including the Lift Off Hood is original to the car when it was built at the factory. One needs to see this car in order to believe how straight the car is. I have very seldom seen one this straight.
The car was completed in late 2010 and was driven approximately 100 miles before being put away in my collection in my climate controlled garage.
At this point, since I hardly show the car, I rather see someone younger than me enjoy it.
You will never be ashamed of this car at any level car show. This is a NO EXCUSE CAR, with everything functioning the way it should.
