Interesting history. 2 owner, loaded Vette roadster. It didn't see
the light of day from the late 1980s until December 2019! 1st owner
lived in Arizona, sold it to a friend in 1982, a Judge here in
Illinois. He drove it a couple years and took it to a friend's
restoration shop. It sat in a corner and was worked on when there
was time. Over the last 30+ years the car has had an extensive
restoration. A crazy amount of money was spent. We have a stack of
neatly itemized invoices. It was serviced and functions great, the
a/c is even cold.
EXTERIOR: The paint really pops on this car, it is repainted a
bright red. It is very glossy. There are a few minor flaws if you
look for them but anyone walking up to the car is going to be
impressed by it's flashiness. The body is in excellent shape,
everything appears to fit very nicely. I didn't find anybody
damage. The front and rear rubber bumpers are in excellent shape
and fit real nice. The little bit of chrome looks like it's been
replaced including the door handles, mirrors emblems. It has 15
inch rally wheels and the trim looks like it's been replaced. The
tires look like they are new. Door jambs are painted real nice, the
weather strips and window seals have been replaced. The windshield
is new. Has a removable hardtop that is painted as nice as the car.
Original headliner is in good shape. The convertible top is
upgraded to a tan German cloth, twice as expensive as a vinyl
top.
INTERIOR: Has it's original tan leather upholstery on the seats and
armrest cushion. Carpets look like they've been replaced. The
console, door panels, dash area is in excellent condition.
Everything is completely stock- has the reverse lockout shifter
with chrome ball, factory Am-Fm radio and stock steering. Features
include power windows and tilt-telescopic column.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The original 350 motor was rebuilt and brought
to approximately 400 hp. Most components have been rebuilt or
replaced. The air conditioning system was restored and blows cold.
The radiator, shroud, clutch fan look good. Has reproduction GM
hoses. Features include power steering and brakes. It has it's cowl
induction system still in place.
UNDERSIDE: Very clean. Overtime, most components were restored or
replaced. The front suspension was completely rebuilt. Has KYB gas
shocks. Power steering system was replaced. Bottom of the motor is
clean, starter was replaced. Has vin # matched 4-speed trans. Has
original 3.36 posi rear. Has gas shocks in back, leaf spring was
replaced. The brake system was completely gone through. Has disc at
all four wheels. Exhaust system was replaced. The chassis is clean
and painted black. The floors are still raw fiberglass with no
damage. Spare tire carrier is complete.
Only 67,000 original miles on this car. Less then 100 miles since
restoration. It's the perfect "barn find" scenario. Hasn't seen the
light of day in over 3 decades. Instead of a mouse infested damp
barn, it's been in a heated shop where it's been continuously
worked on. Sounds like a crazy story but it's true! Great car with
a great story.
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure
your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do
a walk around video that explains the car's condition in
detail.
