Vehicle Description

1965 German VW Split Window Bus with a Mid Engine 350 V8 and Automatic Transmission.
These German classic bus’s are highly collectable and sought after in todays collector car market.                                                                                                                         I had a professional appraisal done by a 30 year veteran classic vehicle appraiser on October 2nd 2020.                                                                                                                  It appraised for $67,500.00.I am asking $64,500 Neg.
My Bus is an Original & Custom build (Restomod) with approximately 30k miles since restored.
It has the best of both worlds. If you want something unique & one of a kind this is it.
It has all of the Original Classic details of a 65 Splitty but with just enough customizing and modern updates needed to make it stand out and be able to drive on the roads and highways today. My bus attracts attention everywhere we go in it.
My bus is not a trailer queen but a bus that you can show, go on cruises, drive everyday if you elect to and also a bus that you could drive across country on any given day. It is very reliable.
Two Tone Deluxe highly desirable paint in Bright Red & Black.
Since it is a driver, i would rate the paint at a 6/7 out of 10. It looks great and does well at car shows & cruises but does have some imperfections, a few small dents, small rock chips and a few spots of surface rust.
Deluxe Chrome Trim Package Option
Split Front Windshield.
Rare Jalousie louvered side window package. (with the exception of one but i have a jalousie window to replace it plus a spare one in case one gets broke)
Sliding driver & passenger door windows with wing vents.
Red, White and Black vinyl/cloth interior including head liner.
Matching door panels with custom door openers.
High back bucket seats. I also have a custom pair of red/black low back bucket seats that could be installed in the rear.
Interior has been insulated with sound deadening material.
Interior led lighting.
Interior carpet throughout.
Kenwood am/fm/cd/dvd/phone/ipod/stereo system with gps and speakers. Alarm system, hidden start setup, battery cutoff setup.
Custom built three piece roof rack with padded rollers & three hidden pull outs made for use of a canopy.
A custom built front grill guard with built in steps for loading the roof rack.
Two custom built bike racks that mount to the rear of the bus.
A custom built receiver rack to haul extra things on.
VDO Gauges.
Front driving lights.
Rear after market lights for reverse or camping. My bus has been professionally modified to accommodate a hidden mid engine V-8.
It is a rebuilt 1970 Oldsmobile 350 known for their dependability.
3 Speed Automatic turbo 350 transmission. Chrome valve covers. Finned alluminum transmission pan. Chrome torque converter cover. Four barrel carburator with chrome air breather.
This bus is a Cruiser not an all out hot rod but you will have no issues getting up to speed on the highway and cruising at highway speeds.
Dual Aluminum Radiators
Custom air scoop underneath
Dual side custom air scoops
Three electric fans set up to come on at separate temperature intervals. External oil cooler. External transmission cooler.
Front disc brakes
Air shocks on all for corners.
Front Disc brakes, Rear Drum brakes..
15“ Chrome Porsche Wheels.
Radial tires.
Rear wheel flares.
Hidden Dual batteries.
Hidden dual exhaust with stainless mufflers.
Hidden Inverter for 110 volt power when camping. My bus has a custom built a/c & heat set up on the inside with vents/fans in the front and rear. It still needs the engine bay items ie compressor, dryer etc.
I am sure that i am forgetting a few things and there are a few quirks that i haven't got around to fixing but all in all this bus is ready to roll, have fun with and be enjoyed. For a 55 year old bus, it is a beauty. More pictures/video available upon request.
The surfboard, bus cooler, pillows are not included.

Adult owned - Reason for selling - We are planning for retirement.
$64,500.00 neg.
