Superformance MKIII SP00566 is a Royal Blue MKIII 427S/C with
painted White LeMans twin stripes. Finished with all chrome trim on
headlights, roadster bumpers, turn signals, roll bar, and even the
brass Windscreen frame.
On the inside SP00566 has period correct Smiths Gauges with a Lucas
Ammeter Gauge in the period correct dash layout. The doors are
secure by original style carriage style latches. All openings, such
as engine bay, trunk, and cockpit are wrapped around steel subframe
for increased strength and support. Dashes are wrapped in leather
as are the steel framed seats which offer period correct webbing
for comfort and aesthetics.
All Superformance MKIII's feature a high performance aluminum
radiator with twin electric fans that are thermostatically
controlled. Also, this MKIII has a period correct oil cooler with
shroud and fittings. All Superformance MKIII's come standard with
Limited Slip Differentials and Power Disc Brakes.
SP00566 is completed with a Ford 351W V8 and mated to a Tremec 5
speed manual transmission. This MKIII has been built with period
correct side pipes. It can easily be changed back to the original
side pipe 427 S/C configuration. This drivetrain package is perfect
for a Superformance Cobra. It makes the power of the original race
cars with the balance and reliability of a daily driven small
block.
