Vehicle Description
Bill Mitchell was the designer, Cadillac was the producer and that
combo sure had things figured out. And quite honestly Cadillac only
had one competitor and that was Lincoln. Cadillac had many firsts
throughout but thing that sticks out the most is the styling and we
were still using fins. Not quite as big as the first generation but
they were surely there up until 1964 anyway. In that four years of
the Coupe de Ville, only saw a couple moderate face lifts but
another cool fact is that The Coupe de Ville had a total of 143
options that could be ordered from wool interiors to wood veneer
facings on the doors, dash and seat backs. The engine used was a
390 Cubic inch but was plenty powerful enough to move this car with
almost a 130" Wheelbase weighing in at nearly 5,000 pounds. This
particular car is largely original with the exception of a repaint
sometime ago. I would consider the paint to be a very good driver
quality. The interior appears to be original and in very good shape
with all lights, gauges etc.. in working order. The engine starts,
runs and drives very smoothly with NO smoking or leaking. It goes
down the road as you would expect from a classic Cadillac, strait
and true. This is a really fun car that garners attention wherever
it goes.
