For Sale: 1939 Packard 1707 in Phoenix, Arizona

Vehicle Description

1939 Packard Club Sedan 1707 V-12
Wonderful Preservation Example

This Club Sedan is one of 46 built in 39 but also a one off example customized by the Derham Body Company. The original V-12 engine of 473 cubic inches delivers power through a three speed column shift to a high speed rear end, allowing the car to cruise easily at freeway speeds.

I have been the keeper of this wonderful 1939 Club Sedan for the last 22 years . It has had 4 owners in its 80 year history. Mrs  Fifi Dorrence Colket , a daughter of Dr Dorrence, creator of the Campbell soup fortune, ordered this  Packard new  from the Packard dealer in Bryn Mawr, PA and  then sent it to the Derham Body to have the Burbank canvas top, curved divider window and  lambs wool carpet  with hassocks installed. It was chauffeure driven until 1973.
This rare preservation example is in excellent condition equipped with push button radio, heater, clock and dual side mounts. It has a remarkable interior for its age.
As you will note from the pictures, the paint shows well. Up close it has the the patina of a well cared for 80 year old automobile. The  engine has been completely rebuilt along with a new clutch . The car runs strong and drives well. It is a  great  example of an original car. Originality only happens once.
This Club Sedan would be a unique vehicle for any car collection or on tour.
