This 1986 Mercedes-Benz 560SL with the powerful 5547 V8 engine was only supplied on the American market. This was the heaviest vehicle they made and the top speed said to be 130 with 0-60 in 4 seconds. It comes equipped with an automatic transmission, cruise control, driver side airbag, power windows, power steering, and solid wheels. This 560SL is in effect 3 different 560 SL’s; an open air roadster, a convertible coupe, and with the fitting fiberglass hardtop, a closed grand touring coupe.
This vehicle has only had 3 owners. The current owner purchased it from his sister in 2008 and has only put about 4,000 miles on it. Although, it currently has 180,767 miles, it was purchased in Dana Point California and has always been garaged. It has stayed in southern California and the car has never had any body work or rust. The original factory Benz exterior paint “signal red” is still in great condition and the interior is the most popular Palomino Tan. Both the soft and hard tops are in excellent condition. Included also, is the soft cover. With the exception of some peeling on the rims the chrome is like new.
This is a classic Mercedes that will only appreciate in value. The engine, body, and interior are all original this would be a great small project. It has been recently smogged.
