Vehicle Description
This 1970 Mustang 302 restore/retromod project took almost 3 years
to complete from frame off restoration. It got new paint and
stripes (painted in, not stick on vinyl stripes) that are less than
2 years old (all receipts will be given to the new owner upon
purchase, for documentation). The built started from the ground up
with new floor boards where needed, new radiator support, full
frame rails on the front (inner and outer), and the whole chassis
got beefed up with new subframes and bracings that tied from the
front frame rails to the back. The rear then got upgraded to
Heidts's Pro-G quadra-link coil-over shock systems to get good
traction in the back. In the front, you'll also get new Pro-G
suspension systems which included rack and pinion, coil-over shock
springs, 2" drop spindles, stabilizer bar, etc. Then with the 9"
rear axle with a 3.25 gear ratio, 31 spline drive shaft with trac
lock and u-joint to tie them all together. The front and back are
rotors/discs with 12" drilled and slotted by Willwood, red painted
calipers, a tandem master cylinder with adjustable proportioning
valves, all new brake lines and cables were added, etc. and you
have yourself an entire new brake system. Put on a new set of
American Racings wheels (Torque Style), and 235/45ZR17 97W Ingens
A1 sport tires, you're now good to launch. As for the engine, it's
an original with matching numbers. The engine got upgraded to a 331
stroker kit with new pistons and rods, mild cam, new Heddman
headers, dual stainless exhaust pipes, MagnaFlow mufflers, and
ended with 3" stainless round tips. The C4 transmission got
rebuilt, adding transmission cooler and new lines as well. For the
fuel and ignition systems there is a new fuel pump, gas tank,
Edelbrock manifold and carburetor #1406 (600 cfm) with Lokar's
throttle cables, MSD distributor and spark plug wires, and
Interstate battery with 700 CCA. For comfort in the interior, air
conditioning was added (compressor, condenser) from Classic Auto
Air.
