For Sale: 1951 Ford Custom in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

26,824 miles and it is a strong probability that's original. Exceptionally clean, well preserved survivor. From a prominent Ford collection.

EXTERIOR: Clean rust free body with only one repaint. The body is pristine, I don't see any bubbles or cracking. Look down either side, it's absolutely straight. Body panels fit nice, doors shut like new. Paint is very polished to a smooth glossy finish. All of the chrome and stainless trim is straight and very shiny. Original glass is clear. The rims are painted nice, the deluxe hubcaps and trim rings look like new. Has white walls. It's decked out with trim- has stainless below the rear window, body molding wraps all the way around each side and the back of the car. Has fuel door trim, chrome over taillight body extensions. Optional features include metal visor, reverse lights, exhaust tip and bumper gaurds. Fender skirts are included. Jambs are clean, has original weatherstrips and old oil change stickers.

INTERIOR: The inside of this car is virtually like new. I'm sitting here looking at the dash and it is absolutely beautiful. The steering wheel is mint, the chrome all across the instrument panel sparkles. Gauges are clean as a whistle. Has turn signals, radio and clock. The cloth headliner is mint. Correct pinstriped upholstery is in excellent shape, the seats are not broken down. Actually the door panels, armrests, window cranks- it's all in excellent. Amazingly the rubber floor mat is the original and is not split up. Even under the dash is excellent, has the Magic Air heater.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The original flathead V-8 runs as smooth as silk. Motor compartment is very original. Has the oil bath air cleaner and optional oil filter. The dual horns are still mounted below the hood. Everything just looks to be in proper, original preserved condition.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Has the original rubber mat and cardboard liner. Has spare and jack assembly.

UNDERSIDE: Very clean, dry original metal. No rust, no patches. The inner rockers, floor braces are mint. Chassis is smooth metal. The mechanical components look proper and clean. Motor, trans, rear, fuel tank, shocks, springs, front end all look clean. E-brake system is complete.

This one is a sweetheart. Looks so good in and out. Functions just as well. Runs so nice, clutch is easy, drives nice. There aren't too many this nice!
