Vehicle Description
We are thrilled to bring to the market after a restoration this
stunning 1970 Ford Bronco "Baja Bronco" by Bill Stroppe tribute
truck. It is finished in red white and blue with removable hard top
with new white seats and shows exceptionally well cosmetically. It
is powered by its 302 v8 paired with a manual transmission. The
Bronco runs well and shifts through its gears as it should.
Bill Stroppe had a long background of racing, building and pushing
the limits of multitudes of automobiles. He worked for years in
various shops and positions, building masterpieces along the way.
When Word War II came around, he was enlisted and was an aircraft
mechanic. After the war he came back and got back to doing the
things he did best-building performance vehicles. In 1965 Ford
Motor Company released the highly sought after Bronco that was
designed for off road use. Ford sent Bill a couple Broncos to test
and fine tune to his liking. Stroppe continued to promote the
Bronco and in 1967 he entered into the Baja 1000. This particular
truck was built to commemorate the limited Baja model for Ford's
victories in the Baja 500 and Baja 1000.
The Bronco spend much of its life in California and then Arizona.
Other highlights include power brakes, power steering, highly
detailed engine compartment, 15 inch polished alloy wheels with
33x12.5 Dick Cepek tires, CD player, roll bar, headers and rear
mounted spare.
