Vehicle Description
This 1970 Camaro Z28 has been owned by a highly acclaimed GM
Corvette Design Manager since 1977. His involvement includes the
design and creation of the 2020 Corvette! His eye for muscle car
form and function is reflected in this classic Chevrolet pony car.
In 1986 the car was stripped to bare metal and repainted with a
Code 11 white by PPG acrylic lacquer. The front end has fiberglass
front fenders and hood. This hood design is a 'one of kind' replica
of a 1970 Camaro GM Performance hood that never saw production.
This car also has subframe connectors. The door decals are
optional. They can be removed or added depending on buyer's
preference. This Z28 package is inspired by the original 1970
Camaro Trans Am race cars. The interior has been updated with new
door panels, carpet, and seat covers and remains in excellent
condition. The Camaro's perfect stance is aided by a set of new 18'
Riddler wheels and Pirelli tires. The engine was rebuilt in 1980.
It is a 350/ 4 bolt main block with hi-flo X heads with a solid
lifter Corvette cam with a true roller timing chain and triple
valve springs. It also includes titanium retainers and teflon guide
seals. The oil pan includes Chevrolet's off road windage tray. The
engine has Trans Am Racing / 4 breather valve covers that are early
prototypes for 1988 Trans Am SCCA racing. The engine now has 14,000
miles on it and runs awesome. The transmission is a 4-speed rebuilt
Muncie M21 with 2,000 miles on it. The 12 bolt positraction rear
with 4:11 gears was professionally rebuilt. This '70 Z28 has been
owner enjoyed and improved for the last 43 years. Given its
ownership heritage, this Camaro would be a proven winner in
anyone's car collection. Always a crowd magnet and a joy to drive.
