Vehicle Description
This 1952 MG TD is fresh off a restoration (yes, there really is
only 1 mile since completion!) So it truly delivers an
exceptionally nice example of hand craftsmanship that's also ready
to take the long way home today.
An MG TD represents the old-world style of craftsmanship. There was
a lot of Detroit iron being produced in the 1950s, but this
roadster's body is proudly supported by ash wood. And because this
MG is already a standout, it doesn't need a boisterous color.
That's why we love the sophisticated Ivory Cream. It looks
particularly nice because this MG is fresh from a high-quality
restoration that not only professionally applied the color, but
also made sure all the panels fit nicely. This freshness also means
all the iconic touches are correct: from the mirror-like grille
treatment, to the long flowing fenders, to the rear-mounted spare
tire. These cool little roadsters are best for sunny day outings,
but if the weather does turn wet, the black folding roof will help
keep your dry for the drive home.
But really, this one loves to be open to the world. We know you
already noticed the red grille inserts and red piping around the
body. It coordinates so nicely with the red leather interior. And
so the way this one has such a thoughtful presentation inside and
out is another sign of the amount of time and quality that went
into the restoration. These MGs are a great lesson in purist
motoring. A grippy three-spoke steering wheel, clear Jaeger gauges,
and a manual transmission - that's all you get because that's all
you need. Your senses will go into overload as you gaze at the
glossy wood-like presentation of the curved dash panel. Pull the
start button, and then the wind whips through the interior while
you help fill it with the wonderful soundtrack from the motor.
There has been plenty invested in making engine bay look this good.
So you'll proudly show off the overhead valve unit with twin SU
carburetors. The drivetrain was built for you to go out and row
through the gears of the four-speed transmission and get the most
out of this little motor. Just like the legs on a little dog, the
MG's engine has a peppy attitude that's happiest when it's kicking
just about as fast as it can. The light body weight, modern Nexen
tires, and independent front suspension all contribute to this
sporting attitude. But to get the most fun out of this roadster, it
requires you. That's what makes these MGs so popular; you are
connected with the machine. This car needs you to get to the
destination, and when you arrive, it feels like coordinated team
accomplishment.
This is fresh everywhere, right down to the undercarriage photos.
Plus, we have a stack of build receipts and restoration photos that
prove the level of quality that went into to this one. So if you
want to be the one to put the second mile on the odometer, you need
to call today!
