GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1990 Chevrolet 454 SS
for sale. The Chevrolet 454 SS was produced to meet a niche market
of those who wanted high-performance trucks. The 454 SS, as the
name suggests, is powered by a 454ci 7.4L V8 engine that is mated
to an automatic transmission. In 2017 the stock transmission was
replaced with a Heavy Duty Rebuilt 700 R4 transmission so that the
truck could handle any possible power increases. The engine itself
has been fitted with an Edelbrock Aluminum Performer Intake which
improved throttle response and upgraded horsepower from the stock
230 to 260. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 14 bolt 342
Posi. The gear ratio was changed to accommodate more highway
performance as the stock gear was geared low and didn't run at
highway speeds well.
The black exterior was professionally repainted in 2018 and looks
phenomenal. The original hood was also repainted and is included
with the sale as the car features an aftermarket tunnel hood. To
continue with the blacked-out appearance all windows, headlights,
and taillights have been tinted. There is a paint matching
fiberglass tonneau cover that covers the grey carpeted bed.
The extremely clean maroon cloth interior complements the exterior
well. On the inside, you will find that it is untouched except for
the WeatherTech all-weather floor mats. Everything on the inside
works as it should and in the 90s style features a unique
combination of digital and analog gauges.
Mechanically this truck is in great condition as it has recently
had many parts replaced. The rear main seal, fuel pump, brakes,
battery, and air conditioning have all been recently serviced or
replaced. This truck starts right up, shifts strong, and cruises
