For Sale: 1965 Chevrolet Corvette in Manitowoc, Wisconsin

Vehicle Description

All vehicle trades considered, including classics and performance.  I can assist with financing and transport as needed.

Here is a gorgeous 1965 Corvette coupe.  This 4-speed model runs and drives as good as it looks, with all the flair you’d expect from a mid-year Corvette.  It has been a California car most of its life (including 30+ years with the same owner).  This has helped keep the frame and birdcage solid and rust-free.  Further, this example has a nice straight body with good panel gaps throughout.  It has been repainted its original Silver Pearl which looks so good on the C2 design, especially with the knock-off wheels and accenting chrome.

The engine was originally a 327ci 365hp solid lifter L76.  This has been replaced with a rebuilt 327ci using the correct block casting (3782870) topped with 1963 fuelie heads!  There is also a Holley Street Dominator aluminum intake and Edelbrock carburetor with electric choke.  The engine retains its transistorized ignition and all factory shielding.  Note the finned Corvette valve covers and matching finned air cleaner.  There is also a modern aluminum radiator for better cooling.

The 4-speed Muncie M21 close ratio transmission and aluminum bellhousing appear original to the car, as does the 3.70 rear end.  Being a 1965, this model represents the first Corvette with 4-wheel disc brakes.  This model has a power booster as well, making for good stopping power.  The parking brake works too (which is not always the case on old Corvettes).  The front suspension recently received new ball joints, control arm pivots, and sway bar links.  Tires are Michelin P215/70R15 all around.

The factory black vinyl interior has been redone as well.  It is a great place from which to experience this wonderful car.  The seats are quite comfortable, and the teak steering wheel always looks great on a C2!  Note the telescoping steering column too.  The carpet, door panels, dash, and headliner are all excellent.  The original sound system has been replaced with a Pioneer head unit in the glove box with remote control, along with an aftermarket Corvette sound bar behind the seats and an original style power antenna.  This is a nice package that provides great sound without cutting anything up.   The horn, heater, defroster, and rear blower motor are all functional.  All lights and headlight motors work properly as well.

This is a quality mid-year Corvette that can do it all.  It is an excellent blend of condition and drivability.  You can take it to shows and do quite well.  Or just run down to the drive-in on a nice summer night.  Whatever you like best, this Corvette will have you doing it in comfort and style.
