Vehicle Description
This is your classic 80's pickup that is a strong workhorse during
the day, and fun to show up with as you drive down Main Street to
the cruise in or across a field to get to a bonfire at night.
No badges messing up the clean look. A shiny new bumper and push
bars lead the way up front just under the grill and quad headlights
that are trimmed in chrome. That big black hood might not be
visible from street level, but it looks great from the cab! The
view down the side is smooth and uninterrupted front to back except
for the chrome edging around the wheel wells. The tailgate looks
very different, and fantastic, without any lettering or badges and
with the gate handle painted body color too. It is underlined by a
new back bumper that is simple and straight and perfectly
compliments the look. Open the tailgate and you will find a clean
bed that has had spray in bed liner applied.
Open the door and climb on in. The interior looks like new, because
it largely is. Check out the door panel. They are fresh and clean,
not faded like they get so quickly, especially when they are red,
and there is a nice big armrest that is comfortable for extended
cruising. A nice big bench seat has room for 3 (or more) and is
also fresh and newly covered in vinyl. A two spoke steering wheel
has a column mounted shifter for the automatic transmission with
the lever for the transfer case mounted in the floor. There is a
stock, black dash with the speedo and basic gauges clearly visible
that has been topped by a new red dash pad. Ventilation controls
are off to the right and include those for the updated R134 A/C
that blows nice and cold. An aftermarket FM radio is there for your
listening pleasure, and this fresh and clean interior is finished
off nicely with new carpeting.
Under the hood you will find a tried and true Chevy 350 that is
dressed up with an Edelbrock air topper and Edelbrock valve covers.
There are signs of good maintenance with a new battery and newer
master cylinder. What that engine drives is a nicely beefed up
suspension system. It has about a 4-inch lift that was accomplished
by the installation of Open Country 8015 leaf springs up front and
an add a leaf along with 4" blocks in the rear. Shocks are Rough
Country N2.0 all around and there are two additional shocks mounted
to the steering linkage, so the wheel doesn't kick around if you
hit something hard while you are out playing. Front disc brakes
give you the confidence that you can slow this big truck down while
heading down the road, or down the slope of a mountain.
Come on down and get on up into this truck. You may decide that you
like the view and take it home with you.
