Vehicle Description
This 1967 Ford Galaxie 500 convertible is for all of those who like
to standout in a tasteful and vintage way. It's sporty on the
outside, has an elegant A/C interior, and packs a nice
fuel-injected V8 upgrade and overdrive transmission under the
hood.
The Ford Galaxie cars are really starting to come into their own on
the classic car market. These were truly the full-sized Fords that
followed the idea of lower, wider, and longer as far as it could.
It even places the headlights and taillights as far in the corners
of the body as possible. This allowed for some seriously large
chrome elements such as the form-fitting chrome bumpers and the
grille that looks like a double-stack metal fence containing the V8
in its corral. The factory-correct red paint has a good gloss that
work well for this sunshine-ready convertible. And the full-length
side trim really helps to highlight both the length of the car and
the status that came with a Galaxie 500. That vintage premium
feeling is continued in the details like the fenders skirts and
intricate Ford wheel covers.
While we like how the newer black convertible top looks crisp
against the red exterior, with just the touch of a button, it goes
down to reveal an even better coordinating interior. After all, a
red-on-red convertible has a terrific look, and this Ford was born
this way! This has a cool stock presentation, and you're reminded
of the Galaxie 500's premium feel with the black streak and
wood-like trim that's both on the doors and dash. In fact, the two
rows of seats even have a black insert with sparkle pattern
embossed in them to give this a vintage and uniform feeling. This
really feels like a well-respected classic, from the color-matched
convertible boot, to the way the doors close with authority. While
you'll love the vintage style, they also added nice upgrades. For
example, the AM/FM/CD stereo offers upgraded driving music. The
R134a air conditioning is ideal for a convertible you want to enjoy
in any kind of weather. And when you twist the key, you hear the
best upgrade of them all.
Under the hood is a Ford legend, but a much younger one that what
the factory gave on this Galaxie. It's a fuel-injected 5.0-liter V8
motor with roller cam. These are terrific hardy engines with a
substantial list of performance parts available. But before you go
and turn this droptop into the ultimate sleeper, you may want to
enjoy the quality installation and attitude this one already has.
This is a superior smooth runner that fires up easily and makes a
subtle rumble from the Dynomax dual exhaust. The four-speed
automatic transmission w/overdrive is in-tune with the soft
suspension to deliver a terrific classic cruising attitude. Plus,
power steering and an upgraded power brakes package deliver the
kind of classic that's approaching daily driver ease.
Complete with owner's manual, this is the full-size droptop classic
that's easy to enjoy near or far. So if you love the open road,
