For Sale: 2005 Ferrari 575 in Montreal, Quebec

Vehicle Description

Intro

From 1951 to 1960 Ferrari built 62 custom bodied cars called Americas and Superamericas. The 2005 575 Superamerica marks the return of this historical name in a substantial way. This vehicle is a Pininfarina designed, version of the 575M Maranello limited to only 559 examples. The Superamerica defines itself with a revolutionary Revocromica glass panelled roof styled by the Italian design house of Fioravanti. All of this, coupled with a highly capable V12 makes the 575 Superamerica one of the most distinctive front engine Ferraris ever built.

Interior

Perfectly blended practicality and showmanship starts with the interior. The beautiful Bordeaux coloured leather wraps the cockpit in precise refinement. The craftsmanship and attention to detail Ferrari has become famous for is immediately apparent upon entering the vehicle. The interior remains in the same condition as when it rolled out of the factory in Maranello.  The roof was manufactured in collaboration with French glass specialist Saint Gobain using a patented electrochromic design. With the top up, the driver uses a centre-console-mounted dial to choose between 5 levels of electronically actuated tinting. Taking just 60 seconds to go from a mild tint to almost black, this feature adds another degree of distinction and individuality to this exceptional machine.

Exterior

The exterior of the 575 Superamerica is a sight to behold. Taking the instantly recognizable styling of the 575M Maranello and paring it with a bold, simplistic yet revolutionary convertible top amounts to one of the most unique prancing horses available on the market today. The Superamerica begs the question, why complicate a convertible when you don’t have to? Groundbreaking yet stunningly simple the glass is encased in a carbon fibre frame attached to a single hinge which rotates 180 degrees to lay the roof flat atop the trunk lid. This design adds only 60 kilos to car, while sacrificing little body rigidity and taking up no truck space. With only two previous owners, this car remains in mint condition. The flawless Grigio Silverstone paint pairs perfectly with the interiors Bordeaux leather, an elegantly sophisticated spec.

Mechanics

The Superamerica uses a higher-output tune of the V12 engine used on the 575M, codenamed the F133 G, rated at 540 PS (397 kW; 533 hp). Ferrari marketed it as the world's fastest convertible car of its time, with a top speed of 320 km/h (199 mph). Purchased new in Chicago, the car spent the first 4 years of its life stateside before being imported into Canada by the John Scotti group for a client in 2009. After spending a few years on Canadian roads the vehicle has returned to us in hopes of finding a new home. Meeting full EPA DOT (OBD II) compliance and showing only 2,357 mi (3793 km) this meticulous maintained Superamerica has a detailed and documented service history and presents in a fresh-from-factory like condition.

Summary

Distinctive and stunning, this particularly special example of a notably exceptional Ferrari serves as a highlight in our expansive inventory. Holding all its books and complete tool kit from the factory this limited edition Ferrari is a must-have for any discerning customer looking to make a bold statement in classic fashion.
