Vehicle Description
The stance, the hood, and the shine make this 1971 Chevrolet
Chevelle looks speedy from the first impression. And there's a
performance-built V8 and four-on-the-floor to back it all up, too.
But as you dig deeper, you're also going to discover a fresh build
with thoughtful features, like air conditioning.
The 40 miles on the odometer represents how far this coupe has gone
since its frame-off restoration. Oh yes, this one is quite fresh!
And this has a look of quality with well-done body panels and the
doors line up nicely. So that application of slick red loves to
highlight the hardtop profile with a terrific gloss. Bright chrome
bumpers, complete trim, and clean lights complete a fresh package
built with care. But the value isn't what first attracted you to
this one. Instead, you knew you wanted this because it has the look
of a true muscle machine. The tall fiberglass cowl hood w/hood pins
looks like its containing a monster underneath (and it is.) And the
shine of the Cragar racing-style wheels draws even more attention
to the wider and taller rear ones that gives this a stance that can
intimidate everything else on the streets.
Inside, the full black interior has the dark heart you want on a
powerful coupe like this. But the pleasant surprise is the quality
that you also get. A fresh restoration means a crisp-looking
interior. There's high-back bucket seats up front for extra
comfort. And family and friends will happily go for a ride thanks
to features like the Retrosound AM/FM digital tuner and the R134a
air conditioning. The upgrades also keep this a great driver's
machine, too. The Grant sports steering wheel has red spokes (a
very cool way to add some color and match the exterior.) Plus, the
floor shifter goes nicely with the oil pressure and tach mounted on
the A-pillar.
Such little mileage on this build means a fresh-looking engine bay.
So you'll love that they built a tidy setup that's dressed it to
impress. You even have cool details, like the brackets and fan that
match the exterior red. And there's serious substance behind the
style. This 350 cubic-inch V8 have been bored .60 over and given a
full roller rockers, cam, and lifter setup. It has AFB aluminum
heads, an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock hi-rise
aluminum intake, and headers. It's a terrific power package that
makes a sweet rumble out of the dual exhaust. And any time you want
to really bring the thunder, the exhaust cutouts offer pure
intimation for the ears. You are in firm control over this power
package as the Muncie M20 four-speed manual transmission feeds a
versatile 3.55 rear. In fact, control is a central theme to this
build. You'll see in the undercarriage photos with great upgrades
like tubular A-arms up front and a reinforced Hotchkis Performance
rear end with sway bar. Add in power steering and power brakes
w/discs up front, and this mean machine is firmly in your
control.
