Vehicle Description
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this wonderful 1978
International Scout Traveler for your consideration. This desirable
example of International Scout is powered by the desirable 354ci V8
motor and is paired with an automatic transmission. Power is sent
to all four wheels through International's proven four-wheel-drive
system and a selectable transfer case. The front axle also features
manual locking hubs. Even though it is a beautiful classic truck,
this Scout would also make for a capable toy that could travel over
anything while doing so in style.
Both externally and internally, this Scout is finished in a
wonderful shade of green. The paint is some of the best that we
have ever seen on an International Scout. Paired with the green
paint, is a sturdy Rhino Lined hardtop. Completing the rugged
exterior look of this Scout is a custom front bumper, and 33-inch
BF-Goodrich beadlock tires on Rockcrawler wheels. Overall this is a
beautiful truck that drives and shows exceptionally well.
Inside, the green paint continues across the doors and floors.
Recently, new black leather seats were installed along with new
carpeting throughout the interior. Many International Scouts have
lived tough lives, but this one appears to have lived a life in
which it was well cared for. The interior is so clean you could eat
off the floors.
It comes with factory power steering and power brakes which
combined makes for a comfortable ride no matter the conditions. The
International Scout Traveler is a unique design, being large and
seating four, but only having two front doors. Either with the top
on or off, the Scout Traveler makes for a wonderful summer cruiser
or capable offroader that can comfortably fit your whole crew.
The Scout was a compact off-road utility vehicle produced by
International Harvester from 1961 to 1980, with a second-generation
introduced in 1971. They were produced in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and
was a competitor to Jeep, Ford, and GM compact SUVs. They were
available with a wide variety of engines and body styles, including
soft tops, pickups, and hardtops. The Scout II built on the success
of the earlier model but featured more creature comforts in
addition to buffed up mechanicals. Please call or email with any
