Vehicle Description
This 1972 Ford LTD convertible is the final year for Ford's LTD
full-sized luxury ragtops, but they certainly didn't hold back.
This cool blue droptop is the ideal size for grabbing some friends
or family and heading out on a road trip, and you'll even see it
has all the ideal features for this adventure. Plus, with its
ultra-desirable 429 cubic-inch V8 under the hood, it'll move
everyone with effortless ease.
The style of these LTDs have gotten even better with age. Bumper
laws would soon put an end to artful front ends like this one with
chrome surrounding a full-feature grille and inset headlights. So
with this kind of history, it's nice to have one with a very
survivor-like quality. You see it everywhere from the light blue
paint, to the full-length rocker trim, to the factory wheel covers.
And the way the sheetmetal looks, you can see this has been
well-respected throughout its history. And we can understand
exactly why. This final-year convertible was the rarest LTD by far
with basically only Ford's wagons and Thunderbirds commanding a
higher price. So they were scarce when new and are even rarer
nearly a half-century later.
The black convertible top looks distinct against the blue, but for
true distinction, you'll like taking it down to show off the white
interior. After all, the light blue exterior and white interior
give this color combo all the appeal of an ocean wave. As a true
full-sized convertible, this will seat six people with ease. The
wood paneling has been preserved on the doors and dash to the level
that allows this LTD to retain its luxury image. Ford's two-tier
instrument panel puts all the gauges up high and the secondary
controls down low, and the effect is very clean and
driver-oriented. This convertible retains some nice factory
features like the AM/FM stereo and provisions for the air
conditioning. There are even terrific rare features for the era,
like power windows and cruise control that make this large droptop
ideal for cruising.
Another reason this is a driver's car is under the hood. Ford's 429
cubic-inch V8 is a legend on its own, and this one is believed to
be original to the car. So we know there are already some people
dreaming of creating a sleeper muscle car convertible. But before
anyone gets to altering this one, take a moment to respect
exceptionally honest engine bay. It keeps the survivor-like style,
right down to the Motorcraft four-barrel carburetor and Powered by
Ford valve covers. And this big motor convertible knows how to get
around town with ease thanks to nice driving features, like the
three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and power
brakes w/discs up front.
The sale comes complete with the original warranty card and owner's
manual. A rare big block convertible like this is not often also
this affordable. So you know you have to act quickly if you want
this LTD to be yours. Call today!!!
