Vehicle Description
West Coast Classics are proud to present an exceptional and great
daily driving example of this mostly all original 1956 Cadillac
Eldorado Seville (1 of only 3,900 models built in total for '56) in
very striking original factory 'Bahama Blue Metallic' (color code
94) paint and with it's beautiful condition full 'Blue Leather'
interior, optional Gold Grille with matching Gold cast Anodized
aluminum Sabre-Spoke wheels, winged hood mascot ribbed chrome door
saddles as in 1955, wide angles gold 'V' in the center of the trunk
lip, Cadillac script on the gold front grille, Eldorado Seville
script nameplate on front fenders and with rare and highly
desirable factory specifications and options including Autronic eye
automatic headlight dimmer, rear air vents, power steering, power
brakes, power windows, 6-way power driver seat, very rare factory
air conditioning with the last year of the air conditioning unit to
be trunk-mounted and therefore these rare air conditioned 1956
models were the last models to have the round air-intake appendages
atop each rear quarter panel and are easily distinguishable from
the non-air conditioned models (and an almost unaffordable even for
the top-of-the-line Cadillac buyer $540 option in '56!), heater and
defroster and ventilation system, original Signal-seeking with
pre-selector radio and antenna, back-up lights, power trunk
release, original spare wheel and jack and it's original 'Power
Pack' dual Quad 4 Barrel 'Carter' Carburetor 365/305HP V8 engine
with a reported and believed to be 34K original miles! There's no
better example of GM's styling and engineering prowess than the
1956 Cadillac Eldorado - drive one like this particular example and
you will see why - its hard to believe that this car was built over
63 years ago! In 1956 the Cadillac Seville two door coupe was born
and this is one of the only 3,900 total cars built. The 1956 model
featured the massive grille and bullet noses with distinct shark
fins unique just to the Eldorado that year. The 1956 Cadillac
Eldorado Seville was priced at exactly the same price as its cousin
the Biarritz convertible at $6,556 and was one of the highest
priced cars of its day - and with good reason - fifties excess had
virtually reached its peak with Cadillac boasting bigger cars with
more chrome and larger fins than ever before! These cars bristled
with the latest in modern appointments and had few rivals in the
luxury market with a recession making owning one only for the very
privileged elite.Recently purchased from a southern California
collector/owner; the car has an older original factory 'Bahama Blue
Metallic' color repaint which is now thinning in some places but
still overall quite presentable with it's original matching full
'Blue Leather' seats and matching trim interior in very nice
condition throughout with it's original headliner and matching Blue
carpets all in quite exceptional condition for their age and in
mostly completely original specification condition throughout. All
the chrome is also in absolutely exceptional condition as is the
complimenting original factory color White Hardtop roof. The
original 365 dual quad 4 barrel V8 engine and the transmission were
reportedly rebuilt by it's previous owners and this particular car
therefore drives accordingly, that is absolutely magnificently -
must be driven to be fully appreciated - does not miss a beat and
purrs like a kitten - the transmission shifts smoothly through the
gears and the car is an absolute pleasure to drive! The car boasts
its original spare wheel and jack in the truck and from looking at
the photographs you can see how clean the engine compartment is and
all the power options are working as they should. This is an
extraordinarily rare opportunity to own a great daily driving
example of a mostly completely original 1956 Cadillac Eldorado
Seville with every virtually available factory option installed
including extremely rare factory air conditioning which would make
an excellent candidate to fully restore for the Cadillac collector
or simply a great daily driving survivor for any Cadillac or
American classic car enthusiast!
