The 1970 Chevelle coupe is arguably the best of the muscle car age.
It wanted to own the road with an ultra-wide look thanks to quad
headlights, a big chrome bumper up front, and a nicely contoured
rear bumper with the taillights stretched into the sides. And this
one really has a terrific added aggression as a newer application
of a vibrant red makes people take notice. The high-polish finish
loves to highlight the well-done bodywork with uniform gaps and a
crisp look everywhere from the front fender tops, to the hint of
flying buttress in the rear. Plus, you have all the right Super
Sport upgrades, like the super scoop cowl hood, SS badging, and
sporty Mag-style wheels. And of course, the black racing stripes
are painted on top to really drive home the performance image.
Black interiors look terrific on a muscle machine like this,
especially since it coordinates with the exterior stripes. There's
a nice deep and dark presentation on the seats, dash, and door
panels that suggest a solid investment inside. Plus, they kept it
quite vintage, all the way down to the AM radio that's still on
display. There are a few nice upgrades, but they all keep a
period-correct feel, like the auxiliary gauge trio and newer
three-spoke Chevy sports steering wheel. It all makes for a great
cruising classic that you'll love to roll down all the windows and
show off the pillarless hardtop profile.
Under the hood is serious big block power that you'll love to
display. After all, they took time to make this a well-coordinated
package with clean black inner fenders matching the valve covers
and air topper. Plus, the bold red block goes with the distributor,
wires, and all the Chevrolet script. More than just look great,
this 454 cubic-inch V8 has been enhanced with the right features,
like an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock Performer 2.0
intake, upgraded polished pulleys, and long tube headers feeding
the growling dual exhaust. While this is mean powerful package, the
three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and power
brakes, deliver a nice overall driving experience.
