For Sale: 1970 Plymouth Barracuda in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

This is is a loaded, top of the line Gran Coupe. Built in California and lived there most of it's life. Exceptionally clean, especially the body. The collector that had it said every mechanical part was rebuilt less then 1,000 miles ago. I decided the original fender tag and this car was born loaded up with options.

EXTERIOR: As I'm spending a little time with this car, I'm becoming extremely impressed with the body. It is absolutely straight. Still has original factory quarter panels, the bottom door edges are perfectly clean, bottom of the fenders are clean metal. What really gets me is how well the panels are aligned. The gaps around the hood, doors, trunk, fendors are square and flush. They open and close like a new car. The paint is polished out very smooth and glossy, probably better than it was when it was new. The windshield is new. Weatherstrips and vinyl top is excellent. It has tinted glass, Cuda 440 stripes, Cuda scooped hood, chrome sport mirrors and louvered rocker trim. Also has 15 inch Rallye wheels with some bigger tires in back. Upfront the bumper has been rechromed, grill is detailed out. All the stainless trim, door handles are very nice. In back the bumper is rechromed, tail panel is very nice.

INTERIOR: The Gran Coupe has a plush interior. It features an overhead console and a cloth headliner. It also features floor console, accent trim in the door panels. This car has very rare power windows, 6 way adjustable seat, rallye gauges with tachometer and a very deluxe steering wheel. The dash pad has been professionally restored like new. The instrument panel is in very nice shape, nothing's broken or cut up. The door panels are very nice original. Console is excellent. Seats have been recushioned and reupholstered. Upgraded cloth inserts and red piping. New carpet and Cuda embroidered floor mats. It's exceptionally nice carpet to headliner.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Very good first impression when I opened the hood. The metal engine bay is rust free, damage free. Very clean factory seams. It's all been painted red. The original fender tag is still attached. The VIN number on the core support matches the cowl which matches the dash. The 440 motor was upgraded with a new aluminum intake and Edelbrock carb. It's dressed up with Mopar aluminum valve covers. The alternator looks new. Has factory air conditioning, the compressor has been replaced. Also features power steering power brakes. Everything looks proper- the horns, washer bottle, fan shroud etc.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Has super clean metal, still has the factory trunk pan and quarter panels. It's all been painted a nice red finish. The jamb is nice, especially the factory seams. The trunk light works. Has the jack, spare and a new rubber mat. There are some miscellaneous new parts, the original AM radio is in a box.

UNDERSIDE: Appears to be good solid floors, frame rails and rockers. Front and rear suspension looks like it has been rebuilt not too long ago. Bushings, shocks, balljoints look good. Has front and rear sway bars. Looking up at the motor, it looks brand new. Starter, flywheel cover, freeze plugs, oil filter look new. 727 Torqueflite auto trans also looks immaculate. 3.23 posi rear. New dual exhaust with Dynamax mufflers. Turn down tailpipes fit neatly through the notched valance. Has disc brakes up front.

Very clean body, rebuilt mechanics, loaded with features! Someone will enjoy owning this one!
