Vehicle Description
Built over a period of two years, this 1955 Chevy Sedan Delivery
Resto-Mod has been featured at SEMA, graced the front cover of
Super Chevy magazine, was featured in the NSRA Builders' Showcase,
was a Street Rodder Top 100 selection, and was a Top 5 pick at the
Tri Five Nationals. "Gone Mad" is powered by an all-aluminum
Shafiroff 509ci V8 engine with custom stainless headers and 3-inch
stainless exhaust. Power is handled by a Bowler 4L80E 4-speed
automatic transmission with a Ford 9-inch rear end and Truetrac
posi-traction gears. Gone Mad features a Roadster Shop Revo chassis
with rack & pinion steering, four-link setup and Wilwood brakes.
This Chevrolet was finished in Glasurit paint, which is buried
under five coats of wet-sanded clear. Both the engine and
undercarriage feature custom-made, one-off panels finished in the
body color. The custom interior was built to resemble a cigar
lounge and used over 10 hides of Relicate leather to cover
hand-fabricated panels. Look up and you'll see a one-piece
headliner airbrushed in wood grain. This custom Chevy rides on
Billet Specialties wheels, 18x8" front and 20x12" rear.
