Vehicle Description
This 1966 Chevrolet Corvette custom convertible received a complete
restoration in 2017. The frame was strengthened with gussets, as
per road race practice, and powder-coated black. It is powered by
an SBC 355ci 8-cylinder engine with a B&M Street blower and is
topped by a Mighty Demon carburetor. The power plant includes a
COMP Cams blower grind stick, ProComp aluminum heads, MSD 6AL
ignition and MSD distributor. The headers are Jet Hot coated
Hookers with custom stainless-steel exhaust exiting the center
rear. The engine is cooled by a Be Cool aluminum radiator with a
shrouded puller fan and polished aluminum overflow canister. Fuel
is supplied from a polished stainless-steel 20-gallon tank. It
features a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission. The front
suspension is a QA1 coilover and the rear suspension is transverse
fiberglass with QA1 shocks. New stock power disc brakes were added,
and a center console emergency brake was adapted. Braided
stainless-steel brake lines complete the system. The body has many
custom modifications, including an L88 hood scoop, 1973 Corvette
side vents, and handmade front and rear spoilers. The fender flares
were customized as a tribute to 1970s and 1980s SCCA regulations.
Custom adapted LED taillights with sequential turn signals, custom
steel rear valance with louvers and C6 Corvette speed humps on the
rear deck were added. The exterior is finished in Pacific Blue
Metallic, and the car features a lightweight lift-off top. The
silver-colored interior has custom leather bucket seats, AutoMeter
gauges, custom console, custom shifter plate, power windows,
anti-theft system and a tilt telescoping steering column with a
leather steering wheel. This 'Vette rides on Halibrand wheels with
faux aluminum knock-offs.
