Vehicle Description
A chance to own a genuine, first-generation Z/28 Camaro anywhere
near as dialed-in as this one doesn't come along very often. This
1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is in great form in all respects -
inside, outside and under the hood - and is a head turner wherever
it goes. 1969 Z/28s are the Camaros to own if you're an F-body
lover, and this particular Cortez Silver coupe affirms that very
point.
This classic muscle car cuts quite an appearance, with correct code
69 Cortez Silver Paint covering the timeless lines of this slick
coupe. Looking great in this setting, contrasted nicely by the pair
of broad black stripes running the length of its hood and deck lid
- a signature Z/28 package styling element. This was a very
thorough restoration, with the body expertly prepped before the
deep layers of paint were coated on and brought to a high level of
shine and luster. Those efforts paid dividends. Everything's in
sync - the silver and black shades are very consistent in color and
sit underneath a strong clearcoat to provide an impressive shine.
All the finishing touches have been looked after - the alignment on
this Chevy is so precise that the body contours on its sides are
impressively level as they transition from front fenders to the
doors, which themselves are surrounded by nice, even gaps. The
badging on all four sides is completely on point and every bit of
visible chrome is in great shape. Even in a well-heeled crowd of
classics, this Camaro will stand out.
Referring to the interior as being "refurbished" would do it a
disservice - it's essentially new. The cloth accents on the front
buckets and rear bench seat carry the houndstooth check pattern
that was one of Chevy's most dynamic styling cues in its time and
looks outright awesome over the expanse of fresh black carpeting
below. Take your position in the driver's seat and you'll find a
dash area in front of you that's also looking great, with clear
gauges in the instrument cluster and a straight, supple looking
dash pad on top showing no cracks or oxidation. Fresh woodgrain
accents have been applied to the center console, which features a
great looking chrome shifter with a cue ball up top, as well as
another coveted Camaro option - the gauge package sitting in front.
An AM radio is still in the dash where it should be, and the
two-spoke steering wheel is factory correct. In back, the trunk
area is nice and tidy, its floor lined with spray-in bedliner that
shows off the solid pans.
This classic Camaro runs and drives on par with its exceptional
looks. The 302 cubic inch V8 under the hood, while we can't 100%
confirm matching numbers, is as close to date code correct as could
be found. It is equipped with top-tier components that include a
Winters intake and a Holley 4-barrel carb. The strong running small
block teams with an M20 Muncie wide ratio trans and a 12-bolt rear
end to provide a "hands-on" driving experience as well as plenty of
off the line acceleration and sounds out a great exhaust note
through its Flowmaster-style exhaust. The entire engine bay looks
great - the proper Chevy orange on the engine contrasts well with
the silver of the intake manifold and headers, as well as the deep
black of the fresh hoses, air cleaner and surrounding inner
fenders. A well-turned out Camaro will always attract attention and
this one is far more than that, so heads will no doubt turn as this
exceptional Chevy prowls the asphalt on its 15" stock Camaro wheels
outfitted with BF Goodrich T/A radials.
This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 represents the rare opportunity to
own not just an authentic classic, but one that's been thoroughly
and skillfully restored. Call today!
