For Sale: 1955 Ford F2 in Charlotte, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

The Ford F-Series is known across the world as a hardworking truck. That reputation is a big part of why it's earned the title of America's Bestselling Vehicle for 36 consecutive years. Of course, a lifetime of dedicated service should be rewarded and, for a few chosen trucks, a leisurely retirement in the collector car scene awaits. This 1955 Ford F200 resto-mod is one of those privileged few. Featuring a dressed 460, a custom interior and a mile-long list of mechanical modifications, this Ford was built for sunny day cruising. And if you're in the market for a timeless Effie, it's a standout choice for your next classic!

TRADITIONAL - IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE

The beneficiary of acute, body-on restoration that was conducted by Barnes Automotive and Truck Service of Arlington Heights, Illinois, this cool pickup celebrates the standout attributes of old school Ford style! The truck's solid, all-steel fuselage mirrors a bright coat of red 2-stage. And those excellent reflections trace straight surfaces to suggest many labor-intensive hours were spent exacting excellent finish work. At the front of the truck, a Gloss Black grille hangs stainless-trimmed headlights above clear parking lamps and a polished bumper. Above that grille, a Ford-branded hood leads polished windshield wipers, which clear clean, chip-free glass. At the sides of that glass, stylish mirrors join polished handles to parallel Gloss Black running boards and a traditional fuel filler. And at the back of the truck, a smooth tailgate hides a black-stained bed between sleeved chains, bright taillights and a second polished bumper.

FOUR SIXTY FORD

Pop this pickup's rounded hood and you'll reveal a massive, 460 cubic inch Ford V8 that provides both great power and great drivability. At the top of that fully sorted mill, a polished air cleaner feeds oxygen to a big Holley 4-barrel that's tamed by an electric choke. Below that carb, an iron Ford intake rides between iron Ford heads, which are equipped with polished Edelbrock valve covers and a polished breather. In front of those heads, a proven points distributor sequences fire between an MSD Blaster 2 coil and loomed Taylor plug wires. Factory manifolds look appropriate caging bright blue block paint. Charging and steering are aided by billet brackets and billet pullies. An aluminum radiator rides between two electric fans. And the truck's bright red engine bay is dotted with choice pieces like a deep Moroso oil pan and a corrugated coolant hose.

RESTORED AND MODIFIED

At the bottom of this classic, a reliable C6 3-speed automatic transmission makes easy work of extended cruising, channeling power to a 9-inch Moser axle that's packed with a posi-traction differential and smooth, 3.00 gears. Around that drivetrain, a modernized chassis starts off with boxed frame rails and progresses to a familiar Mustang II front-clip that's equipped with tubular control arms and adjustable Viking coil-overs. The back end is held in place by a triangulated 4-bar that's supported by tubular control arms and two more adjustable Viking coil-overs. Steering is aided by a power-assisted rack-and-pinion. Power front disc and rear drum brakes bring the truck to a halt with authority. Great sounds come courtesy of aluminized pipes and a throaty Flowmaster muffler. And everything rolls on chromed steelies, which spin chromed smoothie caps inside two 215/75R15 Coker Classic whitewalls and two 235/75R15 Coker Classic whitewalls.

CUSTOM DONE RIGHT

Swivel the doors and you'll reveal a tasteful custom cockpit that was installed by Cassin Customizing of Woodstock, Illinois. Tight leather covers a contoured bench seat that's complete with sturdy lap belts. In front of that seat, a tasteful dash hangs crisp Classic Instruments telemetry above Bluetooth-capable Kenwood audio. Custom, padded carpet frames a booted Lokar shifter between a custom headliner and custom side panels. Billet door handles complement billet sills, billet pulls and billet window cranks. And in front of the driver, a hot rod steering wheel laps a tilting column.

With a reliable drivetrain, an attractive interior and clean lines all around, this Ford is dead-set on hitting the road and turning heads. Join in on the fun by calling, clicking or visiting https://www.RKMotors.com!
