Vehicle Description
Coming Soon : 1982 C3 Corvette Last owner had this car for 6 years
as it had 37,800 miles on it when purchased and now has just over
49000 miles. Previous owner states he was the second owner. After 2
years of ownership the owner decided to do a body-on restoration.
When purchased the body was in very good cond but the paint was
old, but still had a fair shine. The factory paint had been buffed
to the point where the paint was starting to see primer on a couple
spots at the body line peeks. And anything that settled on it left
a stain and needed to be compounded and waxed again. Over the last
4 years the following has been done ; The engine (350 cu.) was
removed and sent the car to a local body shop for a complete paint
including door jams. All small imperfections were repaired. It was
sealed and painted with a 2 step Basecoat/ clearcoat. Factory
original White. All rubber door jamb seals were replaced with new.
The engine was completely disassembled, and the block and heads
were sent out for inspection and machining. The cylinders were well
within factory specs, so it was cleaned painted and reassembled
with new rings, Cam, Crank and Rod bearings and seals. A new Crane
cam Lifters and timing chain and gear replaced the old. New Hp Oil
Pump. The heads were machined surfaced and new valve seats were cut
in and valve faces refinished and reassembled with new springs. All
to factory specs. Any and all sensors and transmitters were
replaced. New water pump and 100-amp Alternator installed. New
motor and transmission mounts. The air conditioning system was
restored with new hoses, dryer and compressor to an R134a freon
system. The transmission (700R4) was slightly modified with a
mild shift kit. The front chassis steering system was
disassembled and all ball joints and upper and lower A frames
bushings were replaced along with all rubber components including
all water and power steering hoses. The brake calipers and rotors
were replaced, and the brake pads were replaced with ceramic pads.
The Tires were replaced with Goodyears but they sucked and I
replaced them the following year with Goodrich Tires. The
Interior Cloth seats were replaced with Leather from Ecklers and
the instrument panel and center console now have a Burlwood like
kit installed. The radio was replaced with a Pioneer with Bluetooth
phone connection and USB connections. All of that happened the
third year over the winter months. Last year the following was
upgraded Removed the original Fuel induction system and replaced
the complete induction system with the new Edelbrock Pro-Flo 4
sequential port injection system. The old ECM computer and Harness
was replaced with new ECM Computer and Harness. This system can be
tuned via an android tablet or android phone via Bluetooth. The
vacuum cruse control was replaced with a new electric cruse system.
The entire exhaust system was replaced with a new duel exhaust
and new mufflers. Well that's a fair summary of the history with
this car. Only driven it in the summers locally and to shows. All
together well over $30,000 in this auto adventure but probably
more. Selling to get a retirement house in the south . Side note:
Last owner was a retired Aviation Maintenance Technician. Corporate
Jets were his specialty. So being retired when Corvette was
purchased, he wanted a hobby. Very fussy individual about his work
and I guess a bit of a perfectionist. With that said... short of
the Body and Paint and Machine work he has completed about 90% of
the this work himself or directly supervised the work while it was
done. We are very confident that this is a sound car. Center
