Vehicle Description
HIGHLIGHTS: Stunning 1969 Chevrolet Corvette done up in its factory
correct Cortez Silver with factory red vinyl interior. Fresh paint,
new interior, Blueprint 383ci V8 that includes Blueprint's 30-month
limited warranty 17" rallys and redline tires.. Original engine
included in sale as well.
BODY AND CHROME CONDITION OVERVIEW: Appears to be all original
panels, extremely straight, bonding strips still present. Chrome
and emblems are original.
Seasoned Corvette buyers will be glad to hear that this car appears
to be all the original panels as the bonding strips can still be
felt in the wheel wells. The body is very straight and the only
imperfections are the result of age. For instance, overall the
chrome shows very well, but get close to eye level and you'll see
some imperfections on the front and rear bumper that are consistent
with a car this age. When you consider that it's the original
50-year old chrome, then in our eyes, it's in great shape. The
emblems are all original as well and because of that the red, white
and black in the checkered flag emblems aren't as clean as they
were new.
PAINT OVERVIEW: Fully repainted in 2019, Factory Correct Cortez
Silver, show quality paint job.
Ask any painter and they'll tell you that silver is just as tough
to paint as black. However, it's clear that the painter who painted
this car took their time painting it. This Corvette's paint has
eyes and it is straight! There is a small spec or two of some trash
in the paint on the hood, but beyond that the overall look with the
Cortez Silver, redlines, 17" Rallys and red interior is a show
stopper. This car would proudly display at a car show and even
possibly take home some awards.
INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW: New Factory Correct Red Vinyl
Interior.
Not much negative to say about the interior, it shows in person
just as well as it does in the photos. The only negatives are
extremely minor and very dependent on the buyer. For instance,
taller buyers are going to be disappointed that its a factory
non-tilt/non telescopic wheel. Beyond that, the interior features
new carpet, new seat covers, new heater core, new windshield, even
a new clock. And like we mentioned accents the cortez silver
brilliantly.
MECHANICALS OVERVIEW: Brand New 383 stroker from Blueprint,
believed to be the original 4-speed and rear end.
Before you get bummed out that the engine it's not the original
350, the original engine is actually included in the sale. Of
course it needs a rebuild, and that's why the current owner opted
to choose a brand new blueprint 383 that creates a dyno proven
433hp and 450ft-lbs of torque. The other reason was these engines
include a 30-month or 50,000 mile limited warranty. So the new
engine that has literally break in miles on it, also received a new
flywheel and clutch, new exhaust, new water pump, and a new hei
distributor. They didn't stop there, they also equipped new brakes,
new shocks and new hoses. The car sounds and drives
wonderfully.
WHAT YOU'LL LOVE ABOUT THIS CAR: The overall original factory
correct look of Cortez Silver with the red vinyl is a look that a
lot of car restorers chase after even today. It just gives a true
muscle car look that wouldn't be achieved if the same car was green
on green. But then combine that with the new 17" modern rally
wheels, brand new blueprint 383 and the original engine is also
included in the sale and now you are getting a lot of bang for the
buck.
WHAT YOU MIGHT HATE ABOUT THIS CAR: Admittedly this question
depends a lot on each individual buyer. With that said, from the
factory it was a very low optioned car. It has factory 4-wheel
Power Disc Brakes, headrests and that's about it. So no power
steering, no A/C and no tilt or telescopic. Thankfully, you don't
notice the No A/C as bad since it's a convertible and the no power
steering would be a much bigger deal if it was a big block
vette.
DOES IT NEED ANYTHING? Currently, no. But you could make the case
for a vintage A/C system for those hot summer days.
WHAT BUYER IS LOOKING FOR THIS CAR? You will be interested in this
car if you are looking for a chrome bumper C3 corvette that has
some factory original appeal but don't want to feel guilty for
driving it a lot. You want the reliability of a new crate engine,
but still want it to be carbureted and not another LS engine swap.
You are looking for a car that is finished ready to drive the way
it is, but want to do small touches to make it your own.
