For Sale: 1999 Chevrolet Silverado in Ft Worth, Texas

Vehicle Description

Chevy has been making pickup trucks since the '30s and when you make a gazillion of them, well that's no small amount of practice. Made to withstand all the punishment that a commercial vehicle needs to tolerate, this 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 4x4 pickup has led a mostly pampered existence and been treated to a few upgrades resulting in a very nice presentation. There can't be many that are nicer, leading us to wonder if it's time for the Silverado to become a genuine collector vehicle. With a great looking crew-cab and plenty of fuel-injected V8 power, this big 4x4 deserves your full attention.

Pewter Metallic will always be in style, especially in a pickup truck, and we have to admit that it works especially well on the Chevy C/K series of trucks. Combined with the crew-cab and short bed, this Chevy covers enough real estate to transport an entire town, yet still looks sporty enough to show on a Friday night. It remains in great condition for being 20 years old, and the shiny paint has weathered the years far better than most GM products of the era, needing nothing more than a coat of wax to really look great. There are no notable blemishes, no major road rash, just a few touch-ups here and there (check out how nice those long bedsides look!), and it's clear that someone really cared for this truck. There was not much chrome fitted to these workhorses from the factory, but what is there remains in great condition, including both bumpers. And if you're actually going to put it to work, you'll be happy to find a bed that is more than up to the task. Cleared Euro-style headlights, LED taillights, modern step bars, and a tall cowl hood all add a little flare to the truck, making it a real head turner.

Slip inside and have a seat, there's plenty of room. Comfortable split-benches both front and rear make this a first-class way to haul your gear and still carry up to 6 people. The gray cloth upholstery looks nicely maintained throughout and because this is a modern truck it is optioned with all the creature comforts, including air conditioning which still blows cold, a Delco AM/FM/Cassette/CD stereo, cruise control, power windows, power locks, power seats, and a tilt wheel are all at your fingertips, further blurring the line between blue and white collar transportation. And we haven't forgotten that this is a truck with a ton load capacity and so power steering and power front disc brakes make it all manageable. The dash pad is in great shape, the carpets below are plush and reduce road noise, and the four-doors mean that this truck can handle family duty as well. Given the condition of the interior and the clean history report, there's no doubt this Chevy has been well cared for since day one.

You'll be able to go anywhere with ease thanks to Chevy's top gas motor of the time, the 7.4L-liter V8. It's stock, but with plenty of horsepower and loads of torque, there's really no need for modifications. It starts instantly, idles smoothly, and you'll never think twice about turning the key and heading off into the great unknown, confident that you'll get home safely. It's backed by the venerable 4-speed automatic transmission (reported to have been rebuilt by a previous owner), and a transfer case has an automatic setting as well as low ranges for truly rough going. The suspension has plenty of ground clearance and the truck rides true, which means the geometry stays right, it rides and handles like a standard truck, and it'll climb over boulders the size of beach balls without blinking. Honestly, given how clean the undercarriage is, it's unlikely that the truck's limits have been tested in the rough, although the massive 33x12.5x22 off-road tires on blacked-out Steel wheels are up for the job.

This is a great-looking truck today, and if late 90's trucks continue to become collectable in the future, we're pretty sure this beauty will be first on the list. Call today!
