At least two major factors come together to make this 2015 Yenko/SC
427 Camaro Coupe worthy of your consideration. First, as a modern
muscle package, this one brings the hardware. From the custom-built
all-aluminum supercharged 427 LS7 to other 21st century technology
such as nav, back-up camera, head-up display, and USB ports, the
car is as fully equipped as even the most demanding owner could
want. Then there is the heritage of the Camaro itself. Chevrolet's
Camaro has long held a position of leadership among enthusiasts of
all forms of motorsports as well as customizers and extreme pro
touring builders. This limited edition adds some of the highly
revered Yenko DNA to the mix. Don Yenko and the COPO Camaros are
the stuff of legend. In 2015, some of the first sold units were
unveiled at Sun Chevrolet in Pittsburgh, which actually is a former
Yenko Chevrolet dealership. You can't get more bowtie than this!
What this car is should raise the Heartbeat of any performance fan
or investor. It started life as a ZL1, the most powerful production
Camaro ever. As such, it's equipped with Magnetic Ride Control,
Lowering Spring Package, big stabilizer bars, Performance Traction
Management, Launch Control, a Heavy Duty Diff with Differential
Cooling System, an upgraded fuel system, and 6-piston Brembo brake
calipers with massive 14.6 inch front rotors. Then, to this already
potent machine, the mad scientists - I mean craftsmen - at
Specialty Vehicle Engineering added these delicious ingredients to
the recipe.
- Custom built 427 CID engine with aluminum block and heads,
10.3:1 compression ratio
- TVS 2300 Supercharger with 10 PSI boost (E.O. #D-488-15)
- Custom-Tuned PCM Program
- Injection molded engine covers with YENKO/SC graphics
- ZR-1 clutch assembly with flywheel
- 20x10 5-spoke wheels with gunmetal-finish spokes, machined lip
and sYc center caps
- Raised white lettering on Goodyear Eagle F1 tires
- High-Performance Hood with Functional Scoop
- GM heritage-style front grille with body color painted
surround
- Yenko sYc hood stripe graphics and 700HP hood cowl graphic
(black)
- Side stripe graphics (black)
- Yenko 427 fender and rear deck lid badges
- Yenko 427 Supercharged sequentially numbered dash plaque and
key fobs (#15)
- Yenko 427 Supercharged premium front floor mats
- sYc embroidered front seat headrests
- Faux leather bound portfolio, owner's manual, window sticker,
and manufacturer's certificate of origin
Optional Katzkin leather interior trim package (white houndstooth)
This superior example has had only one meticulous owner and was
driven just 986 miles as of this writing. It's finished in a very
stylish shade called Ashen Gray. It works subtly with the black
graphics so that would-be opponents may not know what they're up
against until it's too late. Collector-level Yenko 427 badges adorn
the fenders and deck lid. These are nice. The famous sYc logo is
beautifully embroidered into the headrests. This rare car is the
only Ashen Gray example out of a mere 22 2015 Yenko Camaros
produced. It's loaded too. It has the optional Katzkin leather
interior trim package with houndstooth cloth in the seats for extra
support during "spirited" driving. More options include a power
sunroof and the navigation system. (You will notice that the
factory plastic film has yet to be removed from the touchscreen or
the Yenko logo door sill plates) Indeed, one of the beauties of a
modern muscle machine is that you can have it all. You get
earth-shaking performance with no fewer than 700 horsepower, plus
comfort and tech features found on the most high-end luxury cars.
Driveability and reliability are top notch as well. It's astounding
to classic muscle fans how easily a newer performance car like this
starts and runs. You could drive it every day if you're so
inclined. We won't even go into all the safety features. They do
work though. The car earns a 5-star rating in all the government
tests. Yet it doesn't forget from whence it came. This one even
comes with books about the history and biography of Don Yenko and
some of the fascinating projects and adventures he was involved
with from Pittsburgh to LeMans. Here's a list of special items that
are included.
- A pair of "Car #15" Yenko 427 Supercharged Key Fobs
- Yenko 427 Supercharged embroidered front floor mats
- Yenko/SC Camaro itemized content sticker suitable for
framing
- Certificate of Origin for a Second Stage Vehicle by Specialty
Vehicle Engineering suitable for framing
- Camaro ZL1 front license plate holder
- "The Yenko Era" book by Mark Gillespie autographed by the
author
- "The Yenko Era Continued Canonsburg and Beyond" book by Mark
Gillespie
- The Original Key Tag from Day Chevrolet (formerly Yenko
Chevrolet)
- Original Faux Leather Portfolio with the Original Owner's
Manual
This really is a beautiful car from any angle. It has the right
stance with staggered Goodyear F1 Supercar tires. The rears are
massive 305/35ZR20 meats and the fronts are not-exactly-skinny
285/35ZR20 versions. A thoughtful touch is the throwback white
letters. Very nice. The handsome 5-spoke aluminum wheels are the
perfect complement to the gray metallic paint, and they are
reminiscent of the American mags on the classic Yenko Camaros. A
special grille treatment, lights, and spoilers are highly
functional, plus they give this Camaro a commanding presence. So if
what you're looking for is comfort, hi tech features, drop-dead
gorgeous looks, and world-class performance, this practically new
2015 Chevrolet Yenko/SC 427 Camaro allows you to check off all the
boxes. The heritage and provenance of this special machine are
really nice bonuses. Speaking of bonuses, all the original ZL1
components that were replaced for the Yenko upgrade are also
available. Such valuable items as the original ZL1 engine (with
only 12 miles running time), the original hood, grille, seat
covers, and wheels are available for sale to the buyer of this
Yenko car or to any collector or enthusiast.
