The restored 1971 Triumph TR-6 Roadster featured here is finished Laurel Green over a New Tan interior and black folding convertible top. This particular example was sold new to an Illinois owner who lovingly maintained this TR-6 until passing it along to another Triumph enthusiast in the early 1980’s. The TR-6 has had several long term owners, one of which invested thousands of dollars over several years to bring the car back to like new standards ending in the mid 2000’s. Today the Triumph presents in wonderful restored condition while a mere 54,582 miles are present on the odometer; a number which is affirmed by several previous title copies dating back to the original owner. History Of The Triumph TR6
Considered by many to be the most appealing of the T-series Triumphs, the TR6 was first brought to market in 1968. While the TR6 was heavily influenced by its predecessor, the new model was extensively restyled by Karmann. Triumph upgraded the suspension and added wider 15” wheels that resulted in a leaner look with a lower stance and improved handling. Power was derived from a 2.5 litre straight-6 with twin carburetors that provided well over 100hp. A traditional wood dash held the instruments and front disc brakes were a standard feature. A joy to drive both then and now, the TR6 very often ranks high on British sports car lists. Their iconic style and sporty characteristics appeal to some of the most discerning drivers and collectors today.
