For Sale: 1936 Ford Model 68 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Vehicle Description

You've seen it in the car world countless times. It's the phrase "too much to list." Well, we tried here, but this 1936 Ford Model 68 3 Window Coupe is a top tier show rod in which every detail has been executed and tweaked in the relentless pursuit of perfection. There is plenty of information included with the car, including a professional appraisal performed in 2018. It says the caliber of all work performed on this vehicle is of the highest quality. The entire vehicle is both highly detailed as well as being extremely well finished by Tommy Carr of Carr's Hot Rods and Customs in Gold Hill, Oregon. The builders did a masterful job of creating a fully-equipped state of the art custom, while maintaining the essential character of a timeless classic. Starting with a hot-rodded 350 Chevy small block, stroked to 383 cubic inches, the engine compartment visually integrates with the theme of the car. The bold color scheme carries over and the three deuce painted carb setup fits right in with a quintessential vintage hot rod. The engine room also features an Automation tri-power linkage and fuel rail, Vintage Air polished serpentine drive, and chrome A/C compressor. Pairing this engine with a Turbo 350 automatic provides a robust yet reliable power team ending up with the tried and true 9-inch Ford third member. In a competitive show environment, the first objective is to capture the attention of the spectators as well as the show judges. Mission accomplished via the show quality Planet Green Pearl paint with Wimbledon White Pearl on the top side. The effect is stunning in any light. Custom pinstriping and graphics augment the gleaming paint. The all-steel body is smoothed and filled, and features a filled and chopped top and solenoid operated shaved doors with hidden hinges. It's topped off with a frenched power antenna and a roof-mount satellite antenna. The satellite antenna is a tip off as to the high-tech nature of this build. The brilliant paint is nicely set off by a chrome '36 Ford grille. You'll also find '40 Ford LED tail lights, a rolled rear pan, smoothed '40 Ford bumper, and custom Ford logo exhaust tips that are subtly integrated into the bumper. It sits on a custom fabricated and painted notched frame, which by the way can be dropped way way down. The car has Air Ride adjustable air bag front and rear suspension with a quick and easy Level Pro Max system to facilitate cruising and showing in maximum style. This baby is slammed! For perspective, consider that on the Pro Max number one setting, the rear bumper is a mere 3 inches from the ground. It looks super cool, classic, and ultra-modern all at the same time. Indeed, while showcasing the classic character of a revered 82 year old automotive icon, this 1936 3-window Coupe now sports nearly all the options and creature comforts you would expect to find in a modern high performance automobile, all expertly executed. It looks like it has regular crank windows, but the handles actually actuate the power windows. The rear window is power operated as well! Overhead is a custom console with a Sony AM/FM/CD stereo installed. And would you believe cruise control? Yes, and Vintage Air air conditioning with a very tidy control panel. You'll be riding low in the lap of luxury. The custom interior surrounds you with sumptuous white leather from the comfy bucket seats to the headliner. There's more leather on the door panels, kick panels, rear panel and shelf, a custom fabbed leather armrest, and leather wrapped surrounds for the side and rear windows. Award-winning looks, great performance, and max comfort -- they're all here. What takes a winning show rod over the top is the details. This one has American Autowire wiring, Air Ride Technologies 4-way ride 3-stage air bag controls, a polished oil pan, billet transmission dipstick, polished bolts and fasteners, chrome tubular a-arms, and a polished horn. Here's a great opportunity to own a true state of the art West Coast custom. The craftsmanship and execution of this fabulous '36 contribute to an overall impression of sheer excellence. Each element: exterior, interior, suspension, mechanical quality, and the overall concept and integration, will surely rank high on the judge's scoresheet even at the most competitive of events. Between shows, take your 1936 Ford Model 68 3-window Coupe out and enjoy the ride.
