Vehicle Description
1987 was the final year for the boxy bodies on the Chevrolet
Silverado we all love. So this low mileage example pays tribute to
this design with a well-preserved example that remains loaded with
an A/C interior, overdrive transmission, fuel-injected V8, believed
to be original paint and more. And as you look over the details,
you'll find more appeal than just survivor style.
The Frost White paint on this pickup is believed to be the original
application. It has the nice gloss and shine you'd expect from a
well-respected pickup that has barely averaged over 900 miles
annually. This was the final year for the crisp design that makes
these trucks look so tough, and so it's great to have an example
with such good sheetmetal. Plus, as a premium Silverado model, this
has extra distinction with the full-length trim and chrome bumpers
front and rear. And while this is a very well-preserved stock
truck, there are some nice and noticeable upgrades. The full hard
tonneau cover, tinted windows, and a lowered suspension give this
Silverado extra function and a sporty stance.
The interior shows of the Silverado's upscale image. The dark
charcoal cloth bench seat has the kind of plush feeling to keep you
all-day comfortable, and its condition barely shows any long-haul
miles on it. The rest of the interior is just as well preserved.
This came loaded from the factory with power windows, power locks,
tilt steering column, sliding rear window, and cruise control.
Everything looks stock, right down to the AM/FM/cassette stereo.
The only upgrade you'll see is a leather-wrapped Lecarra sports
steering wheel, and it's finished in a black and white to
coordinate with the whole interior. One more upgrade you won't see
but absolutely feel is the R134a air condition. It means you can
keep this truck comfortably cool with modern servicing.
Under the hood is the numbers-matching motor that looks as
well-preserved as the rest of the Chevy. This is the optional 350
cubic-inch upgrade, and it's from the fuel injection years.
Combined with good maintenance, it means this pickup fires up
readily, idles smoothly, and delivers a nice wallop of power
whenever you desire. This V8 is mated to a 700R4 four-speed
automatic transmission with highway-friendly overdrive. So, if you
were starting to think that this is a great truck for all day
cruising at any speed, you'd be very right. This Silverado also has
comfortable features such as power steering, power brakes with
discs up front, and even dual fuel tanks for the long haul.
The sale come complete with owner's manual and a reproduction
window sticker. You're looking at a legend that has not only been
well-preserved, but also knows how to get the job done today. So if
you like classic truck distinction with modern convenience, call
