For Sale: 1946 Chevrolet 3100 in Alpharetta, Georgia

Vehicle Description

AWESOME 1946 CHEVROLET 3100, NICE OLDER RESTORATION READY TO DRIVE AND ENJOY!

This 1946 Chevrolet 3100 lived most its life in the South according to the folks I bought it from. They had purchased it about 2 years ago from another couple in Minnesota who had bought it from a family in Tennessee that told them it was restored about 15 years ago. After the cosmetic restoration it was only used for sunny day drives and to the local shows and cruise-ins which is exactly what this truck is perfect for. I had it shipped to me in an enclosed here in the Atlanta GA area where it is wating for the next lucky owner...maybe you!? I will do my best to provide enough large images, and an honest description, and a video so you can hear it running to help you deicde if this sweet '46 should be in your garage. I am also a transport broker and can get you a great rate on transport anywhere in the country. I welcome overseas buyers and can assist in getting the truck to the port of your choice.

The body on this truck is all steel and in excellent condition overall. I was told that it lived a good life on a farm in the South most of its life so rust was not an issue. The Green/Black combination suits this truck beautifully and overall the paint quality is very nice. When I received it there were quite a few rock chips in the fenders so I decided to have all 4 fenders repainted in black base coat/clear coat and they look like new now. The rest of the body is really nice overall with just some minor imperfections and signs of age. I love the Chrome grille on the '46 and this one is in beautful condition. The Art Deco style headlights on top fo the front fenders also really add some style! Running boards with Bowtie step plates look great! Front windshield rolls out as it should whihc sure is nice on those hot days for a little breeze in the cabin. The air vent also functions properly. Chrome bumpers look great. The wood bed and wood side rails have a cherry finish and are really nice. You will notice that I had the Chverolet Script on the tailgate hand done by a professional pinstriper and it matches the color accent on the belt line of the cab beautifully This truck is perfect for the local car shows and cruise-ins and will win its share of trophies as well if that is what you enjoy.

The interior looks very nice overall and is very stock and original. Bench seat finsihed in nice tan color and the dash and the rest of the interior is painted in original color. Nothing fancy as this truck was kept as original as possible it appears. Original Gauges in the dash all seem to be working although the Speedometer is not working. Original steering wheel looks great. Orginal 4-speed shifter and e-brake still look great and function well. Oriignal starter pedal in the floor works great. Carboard headliner and drivers side viosr in good conditiion. The windlace around the doors could probably use replacing as it is a bit brittle. Windows roll up and down nicely and all of the glass is in great condition. Overall the interior presents nicely and give this old farm truck that classic look everyone loves.

Open the hood from either side and you will see what we believe to be the original 216 straight 6 cylinder that was supposedly rebuilt at time of restoration. Engine bay presents very nicely so you will be proud to prop open the hood on each side to show it off at the shows and cruise-ins. Pump the gas a few times, pull the choke and this old '46 comes to life. Let her warm up a bit and push the choke in and she idles out nice and smooth. She goes down the road nicely but keep in mind this is an original '46 so she is best suited for local roads and those sunny day drives to get some ice cream. The 4-speed shifts well and will get her up to speed but maybe not todays highway speeds. Receipts from recent years show that the brakes were gone through, radiator was flushed, carburetor was rebuilt, sprark plugs and wires replaced, and complete tune up done. This is still an original 6V system and the battery was also replaced recently. The white wall tires all have lots of tread life and look really good including the matching spare. Hub caps look great. She steers nice and straight with no unusual handling issues for a '46. Exhaust is nice and quiet and in very good shape. As you will see, the undercarriage is in very nice condition and also detailed out fairly well.
